Loading Magazines

Phew!!! Got lots of 308 ammo now and a pile of Pmags LR20 for my two M&P 10s. Is it best to leave them in the bags until really needed, or fill up the mags with ammo and leave them in a dry environment. Does filling them up for a long time weaken the springs, or is maybe half full the better path.

I won't be shooting thousands of rounds per year and maybe 200 is more like it. Any suggestions?

Springs do not wear out by staying loaded.
That being said if I had a pile of mags I would keep 4 loaded and the rest stored, that is based on 2-3 hundred rounds a year.
If I was going to shoot more, load them
All up and save the thumbs

As mentioned, testing has shown that cycling is what wears out a spring, but leaving it compressed (i.e. magazines loaded) is harmless. So load 'em up!

As mentioned above, that cycling on the mag is what wears out the spring (over a long period of time), not the steady state of being loaded. Like you I have about 10 20 rd Pmags, all loaded. I'll easily go thru all of them at one trip to the range. I keep mine loaded really for one reason, that is I'm really to lazy to load them at the range. When I'm at the range I like to shoot and then get into my rhythm..... . Not stopping all the time to reload.
