Local newspaper posts permit Holders name and addresses

Yes, but let's say for the sake of argument that the very same map was to show prescription Marijuana, antidepressant, anti psychotic or amphetamine users?
Ahhh the possibilities and outcry.
That's NOTHING.

Post a map of people with HIV/AIDS.

There's NO reason why if posting a map of those with pistol permits is "right", that isn't too.

I was just informed by my State Senator that the county clerks ofice, one county north of Westchester county, would REFUSE to release the names of license holders. This is the 2nd time in 6 years my county has delayed/obstructed/hindered the release of this data. Thank you Sen Ball and county clerk Sant. Remain vigilant, all politics is local.

Journal News hires armed security to protect offices

The Journal News has hired armed security to protects its offices.

Now what do you suppose the security guards are armed with?

Hypocrisy with "anti-gunners" is pretty common...

So the first thing they did was get guys with guns.

Verrrry interesting

AFS

About 20 years ago I was at a public hearing for proposed state firearms legislation. I noted to my wife that the "mothers against guns" types, and of course all the LEO's and others who were there in support of tighter restrictions, were the most heavily armed group of all the people there.

Same goes for any virtually everyone you see in the media or politics that is saying we need to give up our rights. They are accompanied by armed security, and somehow people find them believable when they say we don't need guns.

Just got back from the county clerks office, I go there often to bring some goodies to the girls working there, they are responsible for the issue of CCW paperwork. ;)
ALL of them are in sinc with their boss, no info will be released. I did get to see the man in charge, the county clerk. I gave him a handshake and told him to keep up the good work, despite the pressure exerted upon him. He advised that the battle was far from over and expected to be taken to court by the newspaper, but vowed fight as long as he could.
The clerk had just come from an interview with CH 4 NBC News, he'll be on at ~5:15 pm this evening.

"The Journal News is Armed and Dangerous"? Bwa ha ha ha! What delicious irony!

So... Using their reasoning, are they paranoid and looking to start a bloodbath and should instead put their trust and faith in the rule of law? Why do they need private armed security when they have the police to protect them?

To bad the security companies didn't refuse to protect them. I would assume most security companies are for the 2nd amendment.:D

A County Clerk, County Exec and a State Senator doing the right thing. Too bad other politicians don't follow their lead. I wonder why the Westchester Co Clerk just gave up the info.....this is clearly a public safety issue.

Ironically, a friend of mine called the pistol permit section recently to make an appointment to drop off his permit application and get printed....next available appointment is in September 2013!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems like someone in Westchester County government is creating a chilling effect on the 2nd Amendment rights of prospective permit holders

Chris, it's not only Westchester, I heard Dutchess is taking 6 months just to get the paperwork to get fingerprinted. I see a conspiracy here.
However, there's everyone and grandma applying for a pistol license in NY.

Agreed.

On a side note, i learned from a reliable source that the Journal News Editor(s) are getting very fed up with their addresses, photos and personal info being posted online! As well as their phones ringing non-stop, especially at home. They were then advised its freedom of speech!! Amazing, they dont like it.
