Could someone please explain the dislike for handguns with locks on them. I have 4 handguns with locks & find them not a problem. I see every once in awhile complaints about locked guns. Is there a problem with them malfunctioning more than the others. This question has puzzled me for sometime. If someone could explain, I would appreciate it. Thanks

I don't think it has anything to do with the lock's, more about old smiths verses new.

Locks are ugly.
I have one S&W with one and will not buy another.
Got that one because the seller failed to mention the lock.
If it wasn't a three-inch .41 Magnum I would have gotten rid of it.

I don't own any with a lock, but that's because I only want the older ones. The lock or lack of them has nothing at all to do with that decision.

I have looked at them. I don't think the lock is any uglier than any other screw or pin. I suppose if you don't like the lock, it stands out like a pimple on a brides nose, but to me it's just another "thing" on the side of the gun. <shrugs>
