Look: in the sky!

I enjoy looking at the sky during the day or night.

If you have a chance to download a constellation app to your smart phone or tablet it can make the nighttime sky look very interesting. Just hold your device up to the sky while running the app and it will show you the constellations you are viewing in the stars. Pretty cool....

I have an App called Stellarium that is a free down load. It shows a map of the heavens.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

The constellation "Orion" the hunter is back after being away over the summer. He's right up there in the early morning rising out of the east. Easy to spot with his prominent 3-star belt and with a little imagination you can see the rest of him. My favorite constellation ever since my dad pointed him out to me many years ago.

We like to watch the ISS go over - man that thing moves across the sky. It will cover your entire filed of vision in 2 minutes at about 50degrees. There is an website that tells you the exact time you can view it. My wife and I have seen it several times over the summer and fall.

Good binoculars will give you the Orion nebula, Andromeda, double stars , etc. And great Moon detail.

Are, Astronomy and, Sky & Telescope still published? Their monthly centerfolds show what to look for.
