Looking for .45 CCW

I’ll vouch for the .45 Shield. Mines a 1.0 and it’s fantastic.
Accurate, light, reliable and recoil is not a problem.

I've had most of what's out there in small .45s. A Detonics, Colt Officers Model, Kimber compact and probably one I missed. All but the Kimber ran well, but for one reason or another (in the case of the Detonics, $$ on sale).

I've bought and kept, G30's (X2), M&P 4" full-size frame (X3) and Shield .45 (X2). All the S&Ws have a thumb safety. G30s both had grip reductions and real irons installed, they run like no ones business and conceal well at 4 o'clock in an IWB Holster. As others have said the Shield .45's shoot well, are accurate and with the right ammo, at least allow you to enter a gunfight (Rule 1 guns).

The 4", full sized frame guns really shine for me. Two have RDS's installed, one remains iron sighted, but with a 10-8 "U" rear. All have Apex Duty Carry Kits. One RDS is an Aimpoint RMR G1 the other an Aimpoint Acro.Without a WML, they easily conceal in a JM Kydex, AIWB. They work really well for me.

YMMV

The Kahr CT45 uses most 1911 mags, is extremely concealable and under $350... If you've never tried a Kahr they make a fine product. Just a suggestion...

Adding to post #9 above........I like the Sig P-series .45s
My only 1911 these days a Sig C3 COO model 6+1 with a 4" slide

Had a 4516 but was too heavy for it's size IMO and an early 6+1 4513 but the six round mags were scarce.

Bigger; but the Smith 4566 is a great duty size .45
