Looking for a safe - Any suggestions from anyone?

Liberty and American Security have similar options, prices and warranty. If you don't have a Liberty dealer near by, check out American Security.

As Kanewpadle notes, they are an investment. I've had my American Security Teton series for over 12 years now.

Check out the thickness of the steel.

Also at a m mum it needs a UL RSC rating, which will defeat most smash and grab.

Curbside delivery is not enough. You want to pay the delivery people to unbolt the packing legs and set it up in your house and bolt it down

You should also try to see the interior shelving and racks before you buy.

bought a cannon last year from Home Depot; FREE shipping and FREE financing. Paid my LGS, who carries Cannon and could/would not meet the price, to come move it into the house. Happy so far. Cannot beat the warranty. Only 1-2 other safe brands meet or exceed them. I cant find the article, but there is one out there that is VERY informative about safes. Except for the $5000+ safes by Ft Knox, Cannon was recommended. Google gun safes and you should eventually find it. I have looked for a while and cant get to it. do not remember the site off hand. will keep looking for you though. cannon or browning though is a good choice.

I have had a Liberty President for 18 years now and I have been very happy with it. They are pretty good safes.

A good suggestion would be to look at used Jewelry Store safes at a safe store. The jewelry safes are MUCH MUCH better, stronger, will carry a higher burglar and fire rating, and the locking mechanism will be much better as well. The only thing you will have to do is to customize the interior. Oh, I'm sure the paint job will not be as nice as the Liberty, but the safe itself will be heads & tails better quality than a so called "gun safe". I'll bet that you can also save a lot of money over the Gun Safe and wind up with a better one while you are at it. If I had it all to do again or if my collection grows a bit that is exactly what I intend on doing.

i have the largest winchester safe....it's a six footer with electronic combination...i'm super pleased with it,has a great warranty including the electronic combo....weighs in and at about a thousand pounds....

I have a Cannon Wide Body. Holds 48 long guns. Bought it at Tractor Supply for 599.00 on black Friday(regular price 999.00) My only regret.....I should have bought two!
