Looking for reviews on S&W Bodyguard 38

I read all of the responses and I think I am the only 'wife' responding. I say don't buy your wife anything without her with you. I have the BG380 and I don't love it. For me, it's not the recoil but the long trigger pull that I hate. From all the reading I've done, it's because of the DAO. She should be involved in choosing her own self defense weapon.

Some male-type folks here (I've been among them on occasion) push that idea pretty vigorously. If it's her gun, she's going to bet her life on it, and you want it to be something she can and will use, she had better select it.

Gnat-weight guns are not often good first gun choices for anybody, regardless of gender, so assuming she'll prefer something that light probably won't survive test-firing.

It doesn't really matter what we like, it's all what she likes. Personally, I carry a model 38 everyday and shoot it every month or so. I have the Crimson Trace Grips on it and that seems to "tame" a lot of the recoil. It does like the Hornady critical defense rounds.
