Enjoy it while it lasts. My son and me used to shoot all the time, now he is way to busy with family life of his own. Have fun and go as often as you can afford to.

My daughter asked daddy if he would take her shooting:)

Now THAT's a date! I took my daughter shooting last July and then again earlier this year. We had a blast, pun intended. She's ready to go again, any time. I started her off with a Colt New Frontier single action .22, moved to a Ruger Mark II, then a Walther PK 380 and finished with a M60. She does her "happy dance" when she's done! Enjoy and please tell us how it goes.

Blessings,
Phil

It will be a fun time for you and your daughter. My son, his stepson and I go to the gun club just about every Sunday afternoon and shoot pistols. Larry

I had the honor of meeting a mother - daughter pair at the range last year. The daughter shoots a .22 Henry and is a good shot. That's a fine way to introduce anyone to shooting, IMHO!

Just found this post. Very cool. Buy ammo. Have her shoot whatever you've got that she wants to shoot. Make it a family affair. My daughters grew up shooting my rifles and handguns. Today they are grown and gone. Last time they got to come home, I asked, "What do ya'll want to do?" The immediate reply was, "Eat Mama's chicken and dumplings and go shooting!" Their mother saw to the chicken and dumplings. I saw to the shooting. Very cool.

I have only two things to say:

1. You are lucky to be able to afford one.
2. You are lucky to live in a state that allows you to have one.

If I got to fire one again I would be doing a happy dance too.

Daughters are precious, but I was referring to the M60. I wish I had an M60, but it is good that I don't. It wouldn't take long for me to be broke.

I'm pretty sure he meant Model 60 not m60 as in beltfed
machinegun.
BTW Bushmaster, How old is the daughter you're taking shooting?
I got a grandaughter who is 7 wanting Papaw to take
her shooting with me. I've got some .22's to take when
i think she's ready for the responsibility.

I had in my mind an M60 machinegun. There ain't nothing better than taking a novice to the range for some firearms training and finishing it off with shooting a machinegun for the first time, especially a belt fed machinegun. I have let a number of people try a machinegun at the range, and every time they have a smile so big it must hurt their face.
