It is painful to write this. A few hours ago I lost our 12 yo Doberman, Welhelm. He was a loyal companion, loving and a super well behaved gentleman. Sunday morning when we put him out it was cool and he galloped around the the back yard. That evening he started with dry heaves, was very lethargic and appeared in distress. We took him to the emergency vet clinic where he was diagnosed with a torqued bowel. They could not do surgery, so we had to have him put down.
At least when he went over the rainbow bridge, my wife and I were there petting, talking to him and telling him we loved him. He was brave and not afraid. It really hurts to lose such a loyal companion.
