M&P-15 22 Accessories

Hey, In my opinion looking at the stock and the grip you are leaning for a long distance shooter, so I would say Great as long as you get the right ammo to do the distance. I like the Agulia Interceptors. They never jam on me and they are 1475 fps.

10-22 flash hider for 15-22

Here is the flash hider that I got for my 15-22 after seeing it on a You Tube video it is made for the 10-22 but fits the 15-22 it just slides on and has a set screw on the bottom in the video it looked very good I cant speak first hand on it as my S&W is back at Smith to fix the blown up extractor however I did order and receive the flash hider and it looks well made. Here is the link to ebay where I purchased it.

RUGER 10-22 BLUE MUZZLE BRAKE SHORT STYLE - *BEST BUY! - eBay (item 200397908351 end time Nov-22-09 17:45:17 PST)

Well I got my 15-22 back from Smith today and it looks good and I recieved 2 extra magazines back with it. Wont get to try it at the range until after gun deer season although I may at the indoor range where I shoot. I put on all my new toys I bought for it with the exception of the 10-22 flash hider which is going to need a little dremel work in the shop to slide on when I get it done I will post a pic and so you can see what it looks like on the rifle. I dont think it will take to much work as it was fairly close to fitting when I tried to put it on.

Lefty Shooter II

Ambi safety selector (modified S&W selector)

Hey Thomas Im a lefty also and going to try that Norgon ambi-catch is it a fairly easy swap also the safety selector same thing easy swap I hope hehe.

The norgon ambi-catch is a drop in item, less than five minutes to install.

If you don't want to modify your safety selector, S&W set it up to be reversable. Just remove the grip off the bottom (pay attention not to lose the two springs and detents), with the hammer cocked, remove the selector and reinsert in the other side. Reinsert detents and springs. Reattach pistol grip.

It should look something like this when I'm finished. I know that isn't the same scope I have listed, but at least you get the idea..

Looks good. Get the barrel threaded and you will be perfect! :D Matter of fact the gun is super accurate. If they made a longer barrel they would be sick.

I'm curious to see how you plan to mount the PRS. The PRS normally mounts to a rifle length buffer tube. You may also find that the stock is just too heavy for the little M&P15-22.

i have never owned a 15-22 or any other ar type rifle i just assumed it would fit. i'm a total noob to this. I've built several 10/22's but this is my first 15-22. I'm still waiting on it to get here.

Thanks for the info Thomas my fellow lefty. Ok heres the first look at the MP15-22 with the 10-22 flash hider bare in mind gents it just came out of my shop I will be grinding down the set screw and blackening it to match the Smith I dont think its to bad looking and less expensive than sending my gun out to have barrel tapped but I will take all opinions no matter how cruel. hehe

Looks good really. I don't see the point though, unless the weight improves accuracy or something. It does look good though. I suppose it will serve to protect the muzzle crown. hmmm So it's not really frivolous after all.

Good job MrHowell. :)

Thanks Lynn actually it probably is a bit frivolous as it adds no weight it just gives the barrel a little longer look and makes it resemble my Armalite a bit and I wanted to show that you could make it fit with just a small amount of Dremel work I understand if guys want to spend the money to get the muzzle threaded for a real one but this is a fun gun for me I dont want to put a ton of money in it.

You are quite welcome MrHowell. :)

Since getting my 15-22, shooting it and marveling at the common sense design and how easy it is to break down and clean, I now wish I could afford a .223 AR. Oh, how I wish, that I could.

I just added this TruGlo Model TG8030 red dot,30mm lens,5 MOA Reticle 1 dot. I zeroed it in on an Indoor range about 50 ft. When the weather is better I will go to the outdoor range. For what it cost I think it should be ok. I paid $40 at Dicks sporting goods.

IMO, the sub $100 red dots are perfect for the 15-22. I have two on mine. I have a 5MOA tube-type as you do but on a 3/4 inch Tapco composite riser. Then I have a holographic 2MOA on the rail. The 2MOA is better for target shooting, and the 5MOA is better for cans and stuff.

bipod

I just got mine on Monday and I am starting to look around for some accessories. I am looking to get a bipod for it but wasn't sure what length to go with, 6-9 or 9-13. Does anyone have any pictures? I don't want one real high but I wasn't sure if the 6-9 was too short with the mag.
