yes i have that problem now! i tend to shoot manty times more ammo !

That's why it pays to stay ahead of the game. I set aside different brands to "play" with.

Video looks good, good idea with the bic.

My spread feed end was a little bent, but no worries. It's fixed and working find.

Great job Chris. You'll be hearing more as time goes on.

Looks like a fine Fathers Day present. This will go in my wish list.

keep tuned in ,I still have a few manufacturing issue's to correct
and then they will go up for sale,

But don't worry im not going anywhere cause these colors don't run! (only to take cover and come back for more later):D

Ok well I couldn't resist giving it a try before I went to bed. First impressions...I'M LOVING IT. I hope you didn't spend too much time calibrating before shipping mine because the tube needed totally readjusted. Thankfully I watched your video before I did anything which enabled me to have it adjusted and running smooth it under two minutes. R&D guys(SKUNK) ROCK! Stay tuned there will be more to come...

Fathers Day is your deadline to fine tune it. Lol

Sure need it, my daughter shoots faster than me loading. Well I load slow due to me waching here as she shoot don't want her to get to con-play-sive (sorry my main language is spanish) & spell check didn't help. And do something dumb while she shooting.

Take your time. My man. Looking forward for the release of the product.

Thanks for the reviews guys! I wasn't convinced I would use this, but now I'm thinking I might.

I will do my best, but i have jumped so many hurdles with this project already i could be on the Olympic team and expect several more to jump before the race is over.

how dose everyone like it so far?

i would like to see some in action if possible, its kinda like its first steps in the real world!

That would be the only thing I'd be worried about would be the tube feeder and those "handlers". Mine was an easy fix to get back to normal and not all that bad. It'd be the Holiday Season with all the heavy freight packed around and the freight loaders.

good point , might have to ship it in a more sturdy package.
thanks i will put that in my list of things to change!

My initial thoughts of this product are that it utilizes one of my favorite concepts. K.I.S.S (Keep it simple stupid)! It is very easy to use. I have try it on both 25 round S&W magazines and 32 round Pro Mag magazines. Works very well on both. The only thing that would maybe had been nice would have been if the tray was just a little bit longer so that you could have enough rounds in it to fill the 32 round magazines. This is not a big issue though or anything. Just need to throw a few more rounds in before filling the magazine up completely.

I received my test unit before the video came out and was able to calibrate it by myself without exactly knowing how to do it. That should speak to how easy the calibrating part is. Not to hard to see the angles and how everything should flow because it works just that easy. Took me only a few tries to get it right.

My biggest initial problem was wanting to go to fast. Once I slowed down just a bit I was able to get it to work very reliably. Once again all of these things are covered in the video that I just watched but I was able to figure it out ahead of time. All is good now and I'm glad that I have been able to be a part of this testing. Its a great product! I would buy this product again.

One more thing, is it a possibility that the holding tube could be made out of something a little stronger to eliminate the needed adjustments? Maybe a stronger metal or a harder plastic? Just a thought. Thanks again for letting me be a part of the testing! Great job so far!

great input!
i originally was going to make the box bigger, and still might,
its was designed around the sw 25 rd and the box is as big as i could go with ,without jumping tooling cost for a larger mold base,, second yes im working with a company to mass produce the tubes with laser cutting processes and will probably be made from brass. which should correct the rough edges and the brass is very sturdy.

OK folks, as the old fart who tagged this thing with the name "Stinkin Good Loader", here's my comments.

Ditto to all the good things that have been posted so far. It IS simple, it IS slick and is DOES work!

Now for my criticism ... the tube needs to be of a harder material. That little tab will break off after the second or third adjustment of its angle to the tube - and the angle is important to prevent jamming. This is not a design fault, so much, as simply the nature of soft, thin aluminum.

As others have mentioned, you cannot rush things. The ammo box needs to be held at a fairly flat angle and the rounds fed a little on the slow side - haste WILL cause jams.

For 25, 32 and 35-rounds magazines, this is a great tool and speeds things up a fair bit. But, IMHO, for 10-round magazines, it is only marginally faster than hand loading, once you add in the time to load the tray, dump the rounds and feed them into the magazine. From start to finish, I only shaved eight seconds off my manual loading time - 14 seconds as opposed to 22.

I hope the loading trays will be available as an additional, separate item. For those with several large capacity magazines, a second tray and a second person will speed things up considerably at the range - one person keeping the trays full and the other feeding the magazines.

Outstanding job, overall, Chris!!!!!

i've been doing yard work since playing with my new toy yesterday...i've moved so much gravel, my arms are like jelly...anyway, i will be getting some pics, video, etc this week unless i have to work a lot of OT.

rambling done...i loaded one smith mag and a plinker tactical mag. the smith mag i'd tried it on was a 10 round that i had converted to 25 rounds. i got a chance to empty those 2 mags the fun way today while at my mothers. the plinker ran out with no hitches. the smith had one fail to eject on me, but so did the other smith mag i had converted. these were both brand new mags that had not been loaded until this week. i blame the fail to ejects on this and i suspect it may have to do with the conversion from 10 to 25 rounds as both mags had about 10 rounds left when they stovepiped.

i now have 4 empty mags to play with. one will be used to teach my wife to use the loader.

yes, i still love this thing...i even had one guy i told about it consider buying a 15-22 just so he could buy one of these to use!

keep testing,em guys, i still have a small concern about the stagger issue, but i only use factory s&w mags, and had more stove pipes before i even invented this thing,, i had one a few days ago but i was firing off old rounds i had been using for demo's for months, and were those crappy plain lead bullets. (thanks at least i was in my back doorway shooting at black birds and found all my extractor parts)
i might shoot a short vid on my tapping technique which helps stagger the rounds if there are several in a row.

In about a dozen loadings I did not notice any lack of staggering, either long or short magazines.

yea its fairly good at it as it mimics hand loading ,but i get some every now and then ,but hasn't really gave me any stove problems that i can contribute to miss staggered rounds, there more from crappy rounds/dirty chamber, etc\
my last stovepipe was exploded after 3/4 of the way into the chamber and mushroomed right at the primer?

2nd most useless video lol! Go back to page 1 if you don't get the joke. Sorry in advance for the crappy quality this was a test for me to see how to get a video up for others to watch. Stay tuned...

If I go slow and keep the magazine straight up that's my experience too, but speeding things up a bit or being less careful does cause a few to be incorrectly staggered. I haven't had any feed issues as a result though.

A laser cut brass tube would definately be an improvement as I've had to re-bend the mag cap end several times already and I don't know home much longer it will hold up. This is mainly due to being tossed in my range bag with boxes of ammo etc. I don't usually load at the range but have been doing so just to test it out and show others.

Overall opinion seems to be positive from those that have seen it. Of course everyone has suggestions how to make it better :D

I think this is going to need to be kept in a container of some sort, rather than just thrown loose in a range bag.

Got home from a trip to one of my grandson's graduation and found that a package had arrived. It took me a minute to sort thru the files on the 5-inch floppy disc that is my brain for "SkunkWirkz" but then everything clicked and I was smiling big enough to worry the dogs!
Okay, first impressions using stock S&W magazines:
1. plastic moldings are very good for a limited production item. No flash and edges are crisp and precise. The feed tube seemed a bit fragile being aluminum but nothing some care and attention to storage won't protect. I would imagine that stainless would be used by a big commercial company for this but this is a beta-test of what is really a prototype so the softer metal is perfectly acceptable to me.
2. the alignment block works wonderfully and I may use it to ease loading of the .22 pistol magazines of my grandchildren's guns. But I would suggest thinking of something to aid in keeping the tube in the right spot for the rounds to drop into. There is a little tab on the tube now so I'm assuming you have such a modification in mind already.
3. I had to adjust the alignment of the tube trough and dropping port for my first time using the device. Even then it wouldn't load until I adjusted the depth of the tube in the magazine topper. I scribed a witness mark on the tube at the proper position for future reference and when adjusted it fed cartridges perfectly AS LONG as I didn't try to go too fast. This is not an equipment issue but falls under the heading of "self-training" and is quickly learned (even by an old fart like me!).
In summary - The device works as intended and is indeed much easier than unassisted loading. I was even able to use the Plinker Tactical assist-rod to depress the follower after the first five-rounds or so were loaded. That made the process even smoother for me (your mileage may vary!) on a S&W mag, I haven't yet tried it on a Plinker.

Skunk, my friend; I really think you have created something of real usefulness and value to the M&P 15-22 community. I also think that it may also be modified to fit other platforms (I'm already thinking about trying it on my Henry Golden Boy tube magazine). I'm honored to have been chosen as a tester and have already unloaded and reloaded all five of my S&W magazines several times so I could do a through job.
And also thank you for the shirt; though it's been a few years (decades?) since a "large" fit me, my grandson who also loves to shoot the 15-22 has already laid-claim to it so it will get around!
This is a good product and I congratulate you on living up to the American tradition of finding a need then inventing a solution to that need. I hope you sell a million of 'em!

Hi everyone hope you all are enjoying playing with your new toy!
After reviewing all the posts so far it seems the tube is the major issue, and i agree. being i seem to never stop and actually sleep, i came up with a fairly simple fix and can be incorporated to new units and update your beta units in the field. i think you will all approve after testing the update.
i will post a short video on how to modify your units, as soon as my camera man returns from his mothers house with my camera.
ps need help on how to post pics to thread?:o

Maybe mod a toothbrush cover or something similar to cover the end of the tube?

good thinking,, i've been cruising all my shipping catalogs and online suppliers and found some very inexpensive clear plastic protective shipping tubes that could be used as protective tube cases, but for now I suggest going to your local dollar tree or value home center and find something that comes in a nice container already and buy it for a dollar just for the container!
now thats literally thinking outside the box!(more like thinking about the box)
also a 13" long by 1/2 or 3/4 diam pvc pipe with pvc end caps will work also

Skunk, for pics, create a www.photobucketcom account.on the main screen after you create the account, in about the middle of the page, you will see the word "upload" with a green arrow beside it. click that and follow the instructions to upload one or many pics. after the pics are uploaded to photobucket, click on the pic you want to post. it will show the pic and a box oon the right side of the screen. in that box with a title that says links to share this photo. click on the link on the box next to the word "direct". this will automatically copy the link to your clipboard.

come back to where you want to post the pics(it's best to have photobucket open in another window/tab). just above where you type, you will see a little icon that is a square with a mountain, a yellow background, with what may be a stamp in the upper right corner of the icon. click that and paste the link that was copied from photobucket in that box.

hope this helps.

it looks like i have a 12 hour day coming up again...hoping not as i want to get some pics and video for you tonight...
