You have to take off the grip. That will allow the take down pin spring and detent and the safety selector spring and detent to be removed. Then you can take take down pin out.

the rear take down pin? Remove the grip and the retaining pin and spring will come out. Usually located under the floor plate of an .223

Really like what you've done with this.

All the paint( rails, grip, charging handle, stock), color on lower receiver, flush mount push button for single point sling and sling. 10 rd clip pin removed for 25rd capability. Optics with magnifier. Forward grip 5 position. Laser with pressure switch. and just got flash light with pressure switch and 45 degree mount. Barrel adapter for 1/2 28 tpi threads, and compensator.

Hey bmcashwell, does that magnifier work well with the the red dot? It looks like the magnifier may need a small riser (most noticeable in your first pic)

the magnifier, looks like it sits a little low actually. I have since changed the mount to a cantilever style mount with the same elevation. However it works well and this is how it is designed. The scope has a hard mount, and cannot be altered to my knowledge.

Can you use you 3X set up the way you have it in pic?
I found I had to move my 3X as far back as I could. Had to move the rear sight. I have not shoot with this set up yet.

I went to the range yesterday and had no problems shooting with my current setup. The red dot reticule was crisp and the magnifier focus on the target was very clear.

What kind of problems are you having?
