Here are some updated pictures of my son's 15-22. Replaced the primary arms red dot with an Aimpoint t-1 on a Knights Armament mount, LMT cut and polished trigger with jp yellow springs, and B.A.D.A.S.S. ambi safety. He recently competed in the Central FL Defensive Carbine Club 2 gun shoot with this gun and finished 33rd out of 48 adult shooters. He is 11 btw ;-)

How do you keep the bolt from releasing when you eject a mag? I just bent a BAD lever to fit, but I am stuck with this problem. From looking at your photos, you have this issue too?

Ideas?

I did not bend the BAD lever at all. When I handle the weapon the bolt has never released when ejecting the mag. It has happened to my son a few times. I suspect he may be bumping the BAD lever as he's releasing a mag. He has been drilling his speed reloads and tac-reloads and it hasn't happened for a while.

I decided to bend the lever, did not want to modify my registered lower.

Maybe my mag release comes out further than yours. Humm....

That is pretty sharp. What tool did you use?

I used a Dremel brand soldering/woodburning kit. The finest tip worked the best for me on my test pieces, so that's what I used on the mags and afg2.

Grab a beer or two or ten and start at it, it takes a while. The longer you hold the hot tip to the polymer, the rougher it gets. I went with a medium texture.

Bent it a bit more, and was able to get one more rotation on the mag release. Works fine now.

Looks like the bolt release is moved a bit forward on the 15-22 vs a real AR.

The bolt will still drop if you push the mag release in too far. Not an issue though.

Now to sand and paint.

Oh, make sure you get it nice and hot with a torch while bending. Go slow and reheat often.

Here's the comparisons of the BAD lever on the 15-22 and one of my ARs:

lol Thanks! A fellow Larueminati ;-)

It's a 16" predatAR 5.56. My favorite rifle. I have a 7.62 predatOBR on order, hopefully I'll get it at the end of the year.

It looks like your trigger housing has been cleaned up compared to a standard 15/22 which allows the BAD to work as advertised. Is that true?
