M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

Just got mine, serial number is a DTZ. Any way to tell from the serial number when it was made?

It looks like the previous owner flipped the front sight around. Any idea if this will cause any problems? I don't think it would as long as the post is centered. Personally I kinda like the look.

I can't wait to take it to the range tomorrow and deal with some pesky laptops that have been bothering a friend of mine.

Just unscrew it and turn it around. he must have thought it
was more aerodynamic like that:confused:

No idea, but I just got back from the range and after a little sight adjustment she is shooting great.

Personally I like it like that, so I'll be leaving it as is.

the 5.11 single 36" case snuggly holds the s&w15-22 with add ons

This may be a dumb question, but if that foam pad on the barrel sticks out past the crown could the ATF wienies consider it to be a supressor? Kinda like if you have a fake shroud that sticks out past the crown.

I'm sure its just on there for protection during transport and is taken off for shotting but I'm just curoius.

the foam extends past the barrel by 3/16 . just enough to keep it out of the dirt if you tip it wrong or drop it .......... ouch. the look grows on you, for me anyway

:D

I think she's finally done, save for a few more magazines:

"DTM" 15-22
JP Enterprise "Yellow" reduced-power springs
Hogue pistol grip
Magpul CTR stock
Magpul AFG
Magpul "magpuls" (black)
UTG Swat/Combat-profile bipod
Centerpoint laser sight (zeroed @ 10yd)
NcSTAR 3-9x42mm Mk3 (zeroed @ 25yd)

I might still get a reflex sight with a 1 o'clock mount, but that would be the only thing I'd consider adding to the rifle until I finish my "real" AR build.

Did your MAKO magwell grip fit right on with no mods or tinkering? I previously got one from FAB defense and it wouldnt fit on. I ended up breaking it in the process.

Some new updates:

painted tan grip and magazine
barrel shroud by tacticool

Just got my S&W 15-22 FDE Moe version out of jail today and took it to the range. It ran with no FTE or FTF's running about 250 CCI Blazers through it, so that was nice.

The only hickup I had was actually the 10rd mag, with the load assist button was not allowing the bullets to feed smoothly. Once I took the load assist button off then it would allow the clip to fully pop up to give a smooth feed. This did not happen with the 10/25 cause it did not have the load assist button to block it from full extension.

Added items:
Spikes can
Magpul AFG
Primary Arms Multi Dot

Wow, I'll give this thread a bump .... great pics, fellas. Ya'll got some real nice weapons there. Makes a fella envious ;)

Shawn,

Thanks! I like the Command Arms riser, it's relatively inexpensive, goes on the OEM stock easily, gives you a better check weld area and also a place to store batteries, cleaning supplies or something else that's relatively small.

How 'bout a quick rundown on the components / mods ?
Nice hammer by the way :)

Ron

Brett,

just curious to know how much that front sight works with the scope. looks like it might interfere with your sight picture or field of view.
Other than that you have an awesome set up and you have done very well to make your weapon unique from any others
