M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

because of the magnification it really shouldn't be noticible, i left the giant stock front sight on mine as you can see in the last page and i can't see the thing at all through my scope. the minimum magnification on mine is 6.5 though.

You can just barely see some shadowing from it. I don't plan on leaving the scope that low, because it does bother me. I will ultimately need a riser. I'd actually like to get an ACOG QD mount from American Defense and make my NcStar fit the ACOG QD.

I'm sure nothing exciting compared to the rest of the pictures but I LOVE my new/first firearm, man haha:

It's an MOE version so honestly, I don't wanna change anything right now. LOVE the feel of the pistol grip and even the rail hand guard feels fine in hand. I'll be using iron sights for a good while as well so no cool red dot or scope (The two ranges I'll be frequenting go up to 50, I believe). Now if only I can find some glasses that will let me wear my prescription glasses underneath haha

well that will be at their full retail price. I managed to find a army guy on ebay that had some left over from his tour.. beware buying on ebay though, i think there are some that were made for airsoft in the UK and those aren't the good ones, so i just made sure to get some from someone in the service. since they are govt. issue there are plenty floating around at various prices, so no need to pay the $80 or whatever they are asking on the revision page.

since this was merged from a different thread il throw in a picture to keep it part of the pic thread.

this guys feedback isn't high but his location is on an AFB, and paypal guarantees purchases. might be a cheap snag. not the same guy i dealt with though, bought mine about a year ago. there should be plenty of sellers if you search around.

or if you are into the whole Oakley thing, they make 'ballistic' M frames, but i haven't seen them hold up to shotgun fire like the revision. they are about 4x more and have a 'cool factor' if that is your thing. hes got some of those listed too, look under sellers other items. fakes are more common here too, but just be sure to know who you're dealing with. preference would be someone serving in the military rather than someone with a seemingly limitless supply of them.

and to make this post any longer, heres matt damon in green zone wearing the original ballistic M frame, (the one above is the newer easier to find 2.0 model, its cheaper too.)
you can differentiate by the nose piece and the appearance around the legs of the frame, the originals look more streamlined and thinner. I'd probably just buy the revision unless you're an oakley guy. be prepared to pay even more for the oakley prescription inserts. really i have no reason to recommend oakley unless you wanna be cool like matt damon :) you can get away paying ~$20 instead of $100+.

Thanks for the wealth of info guys! The guy at the range told me to look up Oakley's (had no clue they did that) and another company with 3 letters haha. I'd love to be cool like Matt unfortunatly I lack the funds so Revision sounds perdy good ;)

not a problem love sharing information i spent a while learning myself. heres an old video that swayed my decision towards revision, theres always gonna be people screaming false testing so take it for what it is.

Overall how do you like the glasses? Worth the money compared to normal shooting glasses?

for a mere $20 i don't see any reason you wouldn't want them. they fit comfortably and of course offer more than the usual in terms of protection. comes in medium and large. theres a wide array of different lenses that are easily interchangable. clear, black, yellow, and orange. just make sure (like any time you wear glasses) that the arms are not interfering with the tight fit around your ear protection. knew right away when i made that mistake at an indoor range.

more pics of the vortex viper 6.5-20. waiting to cut out the foam, gonna do some more adjusting on the rings first.

To give my personal opinion man, when I was wounded in afghanistan last November, I was wearing the Oakley Mframe 2.0 and the lenses took direct shrapnel fragments and other burnt material and smokey matter. My face suffered flash burns but my eyes were perfect. The doctors at the role 3 in Kandahar said the lenses saved my eye sight. So I 100% vouch for the Mframes from Oakley.

Here's some less than grand photogs of my 15/22 with a few mods ... more to come I am sure.

Great forum.
Getting my 15-22 after the holidays.
Came on here to learn and I'm getting tons of info from the pics on this thread.
Thanks

Should I spend the extra $100 for the better sights and grip.

The MOE version? It's a reallly good value. Thought I read that just the Magpul sights would be close to $80 or so so an extra $100 for sights, grip, stock was a great idea for me. I got it on sale so it only cost a few cents more than the standard(and also awesome) version. I'm leaving it MOE for a good while so I'm very happy with it

So I braved the cold and carried a bunch of stuff down to the garage to do some glamor photos. The concrete floor is a nice back drop for doing really good photos and I have lots of natural light with the garage doors open. This is what I walked away with:

Just go back from the range today and put another 500 rounds of CCI Blazer through it with zero issues through it. I really like using the short 10 round mags better so I am ordering two more of them.

Oh and I took off my PA multi dot to try out my trijicon Acog 4x32 clone I got from the gun show last week. It took a minute to sight in, but once it was sighted it shot great. Took it of and put it back on and it was still sighted at were it had left off so that was good.
