M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

Thanks Brett. Like the looks of your family pics above mine. Thanks to you and your vid's and the rest of the people here I am having a lot of fun with this gun.

Chad,

Thanks for the kudos! Greatly appreciated!

Any chance you can take some close up detailed photos of the ACOG clone? I'd like the see the view through the glass if possible and just some close ups of the body and the markings.

I am working with an iphone and a old sony cyber-shot but her you go. Pretty bad when I had to use the iphone for the pic to be clear enough to read it. :D

The only item I was not too happy about with it was were the battery and button is to make the crosshair red illuminated and that is right under the back side of it. That is why I took off my BUIS, figured since I did not have it on a quick disconnect then it would take a minute anyways to change out my sights.

Other then that, I really like it thus far.

Chad,

Thanks for the photos! Pretty darn decent looking through the glass!

I found one like yours on Craigs List, the guy had it listed as a real ACOG he said he was selling it for $500 because he was moving. I emailed him and said "Hey I'll take that ACOG I just need the serial number off the scope body so I can verify with Trijicon" he wouldn't respond! :) The giveaway was the laser etched name in the side and the illumination button underneath.

Sad when people try to rip other people off!

Thanks, It works pretty good for this gun. And yeah thats pretty bad with people trying to do that. I had a couple people ask me if it was a real acog at the range and i said no, just a decent clone. :D

That is a pretty good looking clone. Mind if I ask how much it set you back? Still tossing around which scope I want to buy. Primary Arms is coming out with their ACOG clone in a short while, but it's the version with iron sights, I'm more fond of the style with fiber optic band (even if it's fake). I may not wait when their 3-9x becomes available this week though.

Í dropped $200 for it at the gun show. It was one of those, been there too long impulse buying deals. Prob a little much but when I was looking through it compared to all the others on the table, including some name brands, it was much clearer then them and being a 4x32.

I have a couple of the primary arms red dots and they are a good company. They have their M3 red dot on sale for today only for $49 also.

Quick update;

Added the JP yellow springs. The pull is reduced, but the lighter spring tension lets the sear slip (creep) a bit before it breaks. My trigger was pretty clean with the factory springs, albeit a bit heavy with a rather harsh break. Also my bright green work towel. Makes finding pins easy since they don't roll and stand out well.

Added a cheap Chinese Aimpoint cover. Doesn't fit particularly well, but it protects my sight and adds a bit of breakup for $8 shipped from Hong Kong. Not sure how I feel about the colors, I might take off all of the covers and go back to black.
-MOE edition
-PA M3 with rubber cover
-Magpul FDE and FG XTM rail covers
-Magpul RVG
-Magpul P-Mag Ranger plate modded onto one magazine

Hopefully I'll get a scope to add soon. Perhaps the PA 3-9x IR scope that's due out this week.

It's slightly different than the UTG, but I bought it used for $20. It does its job, and it's big enough I can tote the 15-22 and a Remington 870 together in it (frankly too big for just one AR), with my 2 pistols in their little totes inside the medium pocket behind the MOLLE panel.

The only gripe I have is the poor way it secures the rifle. It has 2 internal velcro straps, but they don't do nearly as good of a job as straps secured in the center instead of at the edges. All they do is keep the rifle upright, not from sliding.

Got the bag used from a guy. I think it's the same as whatever brand sells for $45-50. It honestly looks the same as the Barret, Uncle Mikes, or any other brand that buy whatever China is making and slaps on a logo. Mine has a blank velcro panel where UTG puts their logo. The sad part is it's hard to know who makes theirs in the US and is actually worth $80-100 when bags like this are on legit sites- Barrett Tactical Gun Case Soft Side With Logo For REC7 12171 FREE S&H 12171. Barrett Gun Storage.

This one is $40 Amazon.com: Winchester® Tactical Rifle Case: Sports & Outdoors

I also use LA Police Gear brand pistol cases. They're $8 and just as good as a lot of the soft zippered cases offered 5.11, Condor, etc. Perhaps even better since some of them hold as few as 3 mags and don't have much padding or leave the pistol loose... and still charge $40.
