I just picked up my 15-22 from the store yesterday afternoon, so this is my first posting in this forum.

Not sure what upgrades I'll wind up doing, but I'm sorta going for this look.

(Just kidding of course... :) )

I think next week I'm gonna add the magpul .70 butt pad, this effin toy is a money pit....lol... But I really wanna get the Sightmark Ultra shot reflex sight....

Dude i've got a Schmidt and Bender 1.1-4x24 PMIII Short Dot on a LaRue QD mount on mine right now!!!! $2600 worth of glass and mount! it is just on there for S&G's until an older EOtech 512 comes in for it. The S&B is for a dedicated 6.8 that i'm working on so i had to have some place to put it! makes the gun about 5 more pounds heavier![/QUOTE]
You can check out pics of my Son's. He loves his Sight Mark QD! It works great for quick targeting.

I was gonna get that sight mark, but then I found a EOtech xps2-0 local for sale used.... So I jumped on that... I did quite a few things to her since that last pic....lol.. I'm waiting for my gg&g QD for the xps, then I'm gonna take a bunch of pics n put them up... And I'm just about into the $2k mark with this rifle already.... All for a .22.... Hahahahha. I think I'm out of my bird....lol

both my S&B's are on dedicated predator hunting guns and that glass is so clear you can see forever. dot is very visible in the brightest sun out here in the desert. they are very heavy scopes with the LaRue QD mounts, but i like it since they stay in the shooting sticks due to the weight. I have the optics planet OPMOD EXps-0 on my 15-22 with the 3x FTS mount and really like it on there. it was on my HD SG FN TPS 12 gauge, but i put a C-More on it hence the EOtech on the 22.

for those who don't have 3K to put on a scope, the Weaver Super Slams really have surprised me. their FFP 1.1-6x24 is an excellent scope for the money, only the red dot is not that visible, but it has a VERY visible black dot when used w/o turning it on, i have it on an AR in .204 and it is a great dog gun also.

here is a StrikeFire Bright Dot with a 3x in a pop up mount on another AR. Liked it a lot, great price for around $150 (don't get the red/green, get the BRIGHT red dot)

the mount on the magnifier pops straight up and out of the sight plane for close up work with the push of a button, then you push the button and lower the magnifier to the number that it was on for the height that you want, it's a MAKO.

By the way I love the way the acs feels compared to the standard stock....super comfortable! And on last thing, I have no idea why the pic got flipped upside down when I attached it to the post but it wasn't originally taken that way....oh well, added effect for a different view then we are used to.

new to the forum and first post here.i just put a M&P 15-22 on hold at a local dealer today.i wanted to get a 5.56 but after talking with about a dozen local dealers and seeing the prices of what is available right now i just went ahead and placed the 15-22 on hold.the price for a stripped DPMS ar-15(no sights,no forward assist,no dust cover, and no shell deflector)was $1400 which is over 2x's the price it was 6 months ago.the 15-22 was selling for $480+tax and $5 background check so i couldnt pass up the deal.i cant wait to pick up my 15-22 in about 2 weeks and get it to the range.i really like the looks of all of the guns i have seen posted in this thread and LOVE the use of crayons to fill in the recessed lettering.can someone give me a brief lesson on how you colored in the letters on your 15-22?i would like to do something like this on mine when i get it and dont want to try and hand paint these little letters in.TIA and looking forward to learning more about these rifles as this is my first rifle i will own :D i will post pictures of mine when i get it.also i would like some suggestions on an affordable scope for firing at distances of 50-75 yards,an affordable bipod, and a nice lightweight flashlight.

I just used car touchup paint. Used an artist brush filled in all the engraving and then after about a minute or two wiped off the excess paint. Worked great.
