M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

One of the kids popping off three quick ones, tried to get a snapshot of the spark. You can kinda see it and a couple of the cases.

update: barrel shroud
barelshroud.jpg

i dremelled the free floating end cap to fit and painted only the outer ring to match the rest of the scheme. (i left the legs of the cap black because they poke out through the vent holes)

just what i do,but you may want to just take the end cap out. the front end still being polymer/plastic will still push up on the barrel if you use a sling/bipod/sticks etc when it gets warm enough, since there is just a minimum of distance between the hole in the end cap and the barrel, take it out and you have plenty of distance for it to flex.

No more photos of mine.

House was broken into today while at work.

damn dude.... do you suspect it was someone from an online community? was anything else targeted aside from your weapons/ammo? thats some scary ishh....

PS: did you buy/sell anything from anyone from an online community lately?

love the KSG on the end...want one (yes)...need one (no)....will i get one (no) but would love to fire one.....that is quite an assortment.

problem is you have to clean them all later!!!!

Nothing fancy yet,just 2 15-22's.

Both will end up with the Magpul AFG II and MS3 sling.

Maybe some more mods down the road, one step at a time.

You're right. That's the worst part! haha Cleaning and putting them away. :o

Although I liked the look of the M&P 15-22 MOE Magpul right out of the box, as guys we have to spruce it up a little to make it just the way we want things. My M&P 15-22 is now uniquely mine! I added the following:

- Magpul MOE RVG Grip (foregrip)
- UTG Low Profile Riser Mount
- UTG 3-9x32 Compact CQB Bug Buster AO RGB Scope
- UTG Tactical OP Bipod
- Blackhawk Universal Tactical Sling
- NDZ Performance Charging Handle & Latch (Grim Reaper design)

Ahhh, now it's perfect!

Hey Gopher Slayer, did you have someone cut your barell down for you?
I'm very interested in doing that to mine as well...I like that look. I have a Silencerco Sparrow SS on mine for now.

Love the strait to the point and simple setup/looks of these two rifles. Great job!

Gopher, That pic is my new desktop backround...Love it!

Thanks. I've got it on one of my monitors too.

Shooting with the irons is way more fun for me right now. I go through phases though. lol

Pretty much done with this. Just got in a few 10rd mags that I converted to 25rd and they worked just fine.

Debating on which suppressor to get now. Figured if I'm going to pay ATF for two other suppressors, might as well just get a 22 suppressor as well.

nothing like a dedicated host for a can. my one is permanent on the 15-22, and 8 mags of sub sonic. makes for great bunny hunting!

although sometimes, at a distance, i watched one of my rounds hit an Antelope Jack right in the side, and it bounced off!!! True story!

Slight Tweak

I've posted a pic of this before, but I made a slight modification that I thought I would share. I made a "fillet" to blend the bottom of the A2 stock to the receiver. The A2 stock sticks below the 15-22 receiver.

I used JB Weld epoxy putty and put some plastic wrap on the receiver before I added the epoxy. That way, the epoxy only bonds to the A2 stock which will allow me to remove it if I want without messing up the receiver. I used 180 grit sandpaper to contour the epoxy. Then I painted the epoxy with Testors flat black paint. I scuffed the paint with 180 grit sandpaper to give it a texture similar to the stock. The epoxy sets very quickly.

The end result blends the stock to the receiver fairly well. This photo isn't the greatest: the flash accentuates the edge of the fillet. In "real life" it's not that obtrusive.

My 15-22

Guys I've already posted pics of my rifle but wanted to show ya'll the new zombie rail guards I bought. I like them and think they add a whole new look from the magpie rail gaurds I had.

Latest incarnation. The Gopro mount made the RVG, which the wife prefers over the AFG, not work with the Viking Tactics and Streamlight light. The solution was a ring mounted Surefire LED with a tape switch. An old school one. I can now C-clamp or thumb break hold it and it works wonderfully. The Aimpoint was put on a center fire rifle so it was replaced with an NC Star holo sight. The 416 grip was replaced with the CAA UPG-16, the wife's preference.
