Thanks! Those are some nice looking shrouds.

I'm assuming that you're using the True Shot Technologies A2 front sight. Did you make any modifications to the stock handguard? Is the end cap still installed? I was wondering what my 15-22 would look like with an A2 front sight without shortening the stock handguard. Yours looks pretty good.

They look more like Pit passes from a racetrack to me.

Hey Hearsedriver,
New guy here....
I'm wondering if you would give me a link to the nut you used so I can be sure I'm getting what I want.
I use the same rails you do for most of my stuff so what you have will work well for me.
I'm also wondering (for anyone with an answer) if the 22 gets real front end heavy with the changes and if yall have done anything to weight the rear if it does.
There is a group of us who are going to be swapping parts so I'm trying to get a good idea of what parts are best. We use ours pretty hard and will run them with silencers so I just need to be sure everything will hold up.
Thanks for any info.
Most use the converter barrel nuts from Tacticool22.com. They have two kinds Standard and Modified.
Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 Free Float Handguard Converter (Standard) [HGC-1] - $26.25 : Tacticool22, Tactical .22 Rifle Parts and Accessories
Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 Free Float Handguard Converter (Modified) [HGC-1-A] - $26.25 : Tacticool22, Tactical .22 Rifle Parts and Accessories
To tighten it you need the spanner wrench: Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 Free Float Handguard Converter - Wrench [HGCW-1] - $12.85 : Tacticool22, Tactical .22 Rifle Parts and Accessories
Additionally, you will need to buy or fabricate a tool to remove the factory barrel nut. Tacticool22 sells one too:
Barrel Nut Wrench (Pro) for Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 [BNW-2-A] - $27.00 : Tacticool22, Tactical .22 Rifle Parts and Accessories
Tacticool22 do sell the handguard converter barrel nut and spanner wrench together as a combo, as well as a few other package deals that include the wrench for the factory barrel nut.
Get a pair of barrel vice jaws and a flash hider wrench and you should be good to go. After that you can install pretty much any AR15 freefloat handguard, or you can buy an AR15 delta ring assembly, custom A2 front sight and handguard cap from TrueShot Technologies and install 2 piece plastic handguards like I did:
