M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

kind of on the heavy side eh??? they are built like a tank and are an excellent optic, but like my Schmidt and Bender's with the LaRue mounts they weigh a ton! seems to balance out though on a real AR.

my 15-22 has an OPMOD Eotech EXPS w/3x FTS magnifier...10/22 has a C-more, side mount, tacsol alum. threaded bbl, talk about light!!!

but just think, that Elcan and my S&B's will basically never break so they will out last us and our families who get them afterward!

i learned a long time ago when buying optics you get what you pay for, but i have to defer that comment when i see all of the more inexpensive red dots working quite well with the 15-22's. Whatever works for you.
(plus i got all of my $$$ German scopes back in the Bush 41 years and before all of this craziness, and when i had money to actually spend!!! I got hooked on First Focal Plane scopes and could not go back)

It is a tad on the heavy side but not too noticeable on the 11+lb Block II...lol. The Elcan is worth the $2k+ in my book. I love this thing!

I agree they are worth the money. mine and your's when you look through them, you would never believe the clarity. you actually can't describe it until someone looks through mine and then they don't want to quit. it's like 'scope crack' they won't give me my guns back!!!

Leupold has nothing on these.

Latest add on's:
  • Slidefire trigger pins
  • Doomsday Tactical Ambi Charging handle
  • Seekins Precision Billet Mag Release button
  • Still running my Springfield trigger job w/ JP springs
  • But I have a 3lb Timney and the plate they mailed me on stand bye after further testing of the current combo

I run the Chip McCormick straight trigger drop in's on all my AR's to include the 15-22's. They are equal in my book with the drop in Timney's, just a little cheaper.
my bud has a Giselle and has had nothing but issues getting it tuned in. we look at it like monkeys doing a math problem trying to figure it out. he finally had to call and be walked through. now it is a VERY nice trigger for the $$$ he paid for it. Nice looking weapon you have there also.
same for you mp15.22

There are some really nice looking rifles on here. Serious drool factor in this thread.

The first optic I tried was a Vortex StrikeFire but have moved that to a 7.62x39 Colt AR.
I'll probably go back to the Nikon P22 (w/Burris PEPR) at some point.

BAD ambi safety
MagPul rail guards
MagPul sling
TruGlo 8380B
MagPul sling-attachment (spray painted)
Spray painted the magazine-release and bolt-release, too
MagPul MOE+
MagPul BUIS
Woodland camo dog collar slip-knotted through stock to extend sling (I don't like the QD placement)
Yankee Hill 'Phantom' muzzle brake
MagPul ACS stock
Elastic knee support used as a riser. Hey, I needed an eensy little bit more height and the darn thing works!
I tried a MagPul AFD for a little but but ditched it.

I will be posting up some new family photos once I get the rest of the parts in for me
Akdal maybe next week. Need to figure out a way to set them all up outside all pretty
like... :)

the strikefire was a nice little inexpensive optic as long as you got the straight red only 'Bright Dot'. the red/green sucked big time and would wash out in a kitchen light.
the bright dot solved that very well and is on my AK74 side mount. no issues with it at all.

i was keeping LaRue in business for a while until the PEPR came out. now that is all i buy, great mount for the money.

Nice family you got there Brett!!

Lil off topic, how you like the NcStar optic? I'm looking for a low cost ACOG clone for another 22 and it looks like it would fit the bill.

cjt50,

The optic has performed fairly well. The Red Dot has never been able to
be sighted in, there just isn't enough adjustment to deal with the whacky
22LR ballistics with the red dot being so high above the bore. But the
actual scope has performed well enough.
