M&P-15T Break In

So my rifle finally came in and I will be picking it up tomorrow since this is my first AR I have some questions.

1) When I get it should I completely take it apart clean off any oil and apply my own? What is the standard procedure for this?

2) How exactly should I break in my barrel I have seen anywhere from 1 shot then clean x25 and many variations. What is the best?

1. Yes, strip it down, clean it, inspect it, apply fresh lube. Many videos on Youtube to help with this.

2. For break in, shoot it. It is a Melonite treated barrel. No voodoo required. Shoot it until you are tired or run out of ammo. Go home, clean it, put in safe for next time.
