M&P 2.0 slide issue

Went to the range with my brand new 2.0 9mm tonight after a good cleaning and lube job.took 3 magswith me, shooting white box winchester,UMC Remington and Federal ammo all 155 grain,The first three mags went flawless,loaded up again and the first mag slide did not lock back on the last round.So I put a single round in that mag to rule out bad mag spring,same thing no lock back.tried again ,same thing.
Loaded them up again (making sure grip was tight no limp wrist,the fist mag locked back on the last round ,second mag did not neither did the third.this went on through 200 rounds slide semms to lock back sometimes.Cant be the mags.Took it home cleaned and lubed it,I did notice in the manual that it calls for a drop of lube into the new and improved slide lock lever from the outside.so Iv'e done that,The only thing I noticed was the way the top of the slide lock tab on the inside of the frame( the tab that catches and stops the slide) seems to be ground at an angle but on the other hand when I rack the slide with a mag in it locks every time and with out a mag in I can easily puch the slide lock lever up and it locks?? strange ? anyone else have this issue? any suggestions?
I'm going back to the shop where I bought it to have the smith take a look tomorrow..Maybe the slide stop needed to be lubed?I didn't do that until after firing it ,Thoughts??? Thanks in advance

I haven't experienced this issue.

Did you pay attention to make sure the follower was doing it's job in those mags? Did you disassemble and clean the mags first? Are you sure you weren't running too high with your support hand? Could be any one of those things or the slide stop, itself.

I had an issue once with my LCP II where the slide wouldn't lock open but inspection of the magazine some debris was keeping the follower from going to the top of the mag just barely. A good cleaning of the mag did the trick.

I always have the hardest time diagnosing slide stop issues as there's a number of variables from the stop itself, to the mag to the shooter.

I never thought to check to see if I was riding high blocking the stop lever, and as for the mags they are brand new , I'll check those two things out thanks

Is it possible that your grip or part of is riding on the slide lock? This has happened to me a few times when I first started shooting semi auto's. Grip the pistol like you always do & look to see if any part of your hand or finger is on the slide lock. if so then it's possible that is preventing it from popping up after the last shot.

Mag issue

I bought a 9mm shield. The first thing I do after cleaning and lubing the gun is to disassemble the mags.

The mag bodies are not polished and have a rough interior surface. I found the follower wanted to drag some. I ALWAYS run a patch of Rem Oil (light) though the mags and then run clean patches to remove the oil ( the oil has silicon that will get into the pores of the steel and after just 3 or 4 cleanings the follower runs smother). I do this after each shooting of the pistol.

I also look at the follower and chech for burrs or rough areas which I remove and then polish if any are found. I have had the follower bind in the mag.

S&W quality control ain't what it used to be!
