When spent shells eject from my M& P .22 they fly right into my face. Gun is clean and has over 1000 rounds through it, it just started doing this. Is there and easier fix other than wearing a motorcycle helmet with a protective shield to protect my face while I'm shooting?

Mine also has about 1000 rounds through it and still ejects in a nice pile to my right.

Have you scraped the extractor lately? An extractor with lots of tough build up can cause weird things to happen.

Also when you clean the gun take great care not to bend the ejector it's silver held in with two rivets . The part that right above the mag well when you open the slide.. field striping the gun and dropping the frame can bend it.. Running a cleaning rod through the front of the barrel can sometimes hit and bent the ejector. If you have a buddy that that also has a M&P 22 you can field strip both guns and compare the ejectors side by side would be a good indicator of it's aliment.. Yes clean the extractor well first as the above poster suggested.. But the ejector is a easy fix if you know just what to do.. You can get the cases to go where you want them to a great degree.. Thanks for the very helpful suggestions, I will give them a try.
