I've had one for about 5 months and have not had a single problem. However I have only ran about 350 rounds so far. This was the first 357 SIG I ever shot and I love it.I also picked up the 40 S&W barrel for it for $50.00.Accuracy with both is great.I hope this helped some.

I have the 357 sig full size, and the 45 midsize. I carry the 45 for ccw, and my 357 stays in the case untill it's range time. the 357 is by far my favorite caliber...it has very impressive ballistics. I have had zero problems with either. I've done several penetration test with both, and the 357 simply out performed the 45 as far as power and penetration. As far as human targets in a "self defense" situation, I'm a little more comfortable with the 45, and I think anyone, or anything behind the target would be alot safer. The 357 would probably keep going, and going.........

I have a FS and a compact along with 9 and 40 conv barrels for them. My FS has close to 5k thru it without a problem and the compact about 1800. Ammo is spendy but I have managed to get all of mine for $16 per box by watching Gunbroker. It's Speer Lawman which is excellent and last month I snagged three cases of Federal Sinterfire (frangible) for $8.25 per box of 50! You just have to watch otherwise your paying upwards of $25 a box. It's my favorite round now and I just wish they had it before I retired as an LEO! The M&Ps are fantastic, a lot of folks say the sig will damage your pistol over time but hey with Smiths lifetime warranty I'm not a bit worried!! Go for it, get the conversion barrels and you'll have three guns in one!

I have a full size and love it. Carried it this weekend.

But then I have been a big supporter of this cartridge for close to 15 years now. I was first exposed to the 357SIG when I was working out in Dallas County in the 90s. The cartridge is flat shooting, hard hitting and does a good job defeating barriers.

I own many firearms in this chambering. Mostly Sig P229s and P239s. Though there is one X5 target pistol, a USPc and a P2000SK. Not to mention an MP5.

While most folks complain about the ammo prices, as long as you do not buy one box at a time from the corner Mom and Pop store, price is not too much of an issue. Myself and two other 357SIG shooters order a couple of cases at a time. $15 per box delivered to our door. It is worth it to me.

The 357 Sig is an awesome round. I only recently experienced the M&P autos, and bought two of them, so far. I haven't found a 357 M&P yet, but will have one soon. I have used the 357 in Glocks for several years though. They work great in short barrels and longer ones. Flat shooting, accurate, and 100% reliable feeding. All that with a 125 grain hollow point going over 1450 fps in the 5" barrel, it works. The Speer 125 Golddot will not over penetrate a human target. Call it 99% penetration...... It's a stopper.

I'm glad to see this thread. I'm saving for a .357 M&P and I already have brass and dies. I'm thinking right now of getting the midsize frame.
