M&P 9mm: Can't hit the broad side of a barn - Sight adjustment?

Low and left is common when switching to a heavier or DAO style trigger. If you start having snap caps or dummy rounds mixed in your magazines at the range, you will see all kinds of flinching / jerking / bad habits that you would have sworn didn't apply to you. You also get to practice malfunction drills.

This was my first trip with a 40c two weeks ago.

My problem high and left. I was anticipating recoil. I could tell with a couple of FTF, I was the flinchmeister and this was 21 ft.

I too have a M&P FS 45 and was hitting low left as a right hand shooter,I pride myself on being a fairly good marksman.I am still figuring this one out,I do think the trigger pull is a factor for sure,I am going to put some more rounds through it soon .....THX John

Check signature, everyone of them shoot more than accurately. I may not always shoot them well, but I have steadied my arm on the bench in various ways periodically and when it hit poa, I worked on my technique.. I have different sights on all of my M&P's and have to sometimes "find" the sight. The bottom line is I keep looking at me and not the gun when it doesn't perform like I think it should. I love my guns and applaud the quality workmanship I have experienced. Thank you S&W

I deny nothing. I know I need practice/patients with this new pistol, especially since I just learned what low/left is a sign of (the reason I posted this in the first place), but still, the trigger is way too heavy, despite my inability to shoot it well.

I am going to do a combination of 1&2&4.

Thanks for your input.

I am no pro by any means.... but try to concentrate on squeezing the trigger slowly after exhaling completely. Hold the gun 2 thumbs pointing forward, try the push pull technique, slightly push forward with your right hand and slightly pull back with your left hand at the same time. Do not put a death grip on the gun. I actually hold the gun harder with my left hand (I am right handed) try to relax your shooting hand. Breating is important. Again... no expert but this works for me. good luck!
