M&P Current Pricing

You guys have made my day! After looking at the prices here, I got a steal today. Being retired Army, bolt assist and dust cover are plus's to me, so purchasing an M&P without these is not only out of character, but a first as well. I found and grabbed an M&P 15 Sport, ser# sp026XX, with the box, 2 P mags, a UTG Red/Green dot scope and UTG 3X magnifier, UTG railed front tube with covers, and a flip up rear sight for a mild $575. For that price, I can ignore the lack of BA and DC as long as it performs. :D

holy **** you scored. Congrats on that. Not long ago I got an M&P15X with a magpul CTR stock, magpul MOE+grip, ergogrip ladder rail covers, a 4x32 red/green illuminated reticle scope marked for bullet drop for a 55gr FMJ bullet and 4 mags for $950. Thought I found the best deal in the country but you might have beat me :)

I'm sincerely hoping that that was lightly used or else I'm very jealous of your deal finding prowess.

Yes, it was lightly used, but based its' condition I'd say very very lightly used. It looks like someone bought and set it up to make a buck, then had to give it away to cover their over extended finances. I saw no carbon on the bolt face or the gas tube, and not a spec of dust in the nooks and crannys of the stock. Now I just have to pay it off and sneak it past the wife.

Awesome find! Good job. I expect a lot more similar deals to pop up once the bubble completely bursts.

Good luck with that, my wife has me figured out...LOL...If I may ask which barrel did you get with that one? It will say on the top of the barrel just forward of the front sight. Thanks and welcome to the Club....I absolutely adore my Sport!!!:D

Wow, great score, congrats! Even used, that's a hell of a deal.

My Sport is due in any day now. I'm already looking at what handguard I want on it. Right now I'm leaning on a KAC M4 RAS second drop in. I am also looking at the MI 2nd Gen drop in and the newer Troy VTAC Delta rail drop in. All have great reviews and that Troy is a much longer drop in which I have never seen before (plus they say it free floats).

I say sport

I finally after years of going back and forth wanted an AR, so I picked up a sport days before Barry got re-elected. I thought things might get a little crazy on the anti-gun front if he got re-elected.

Anyhow I looked at many options and money for the most part was not a big concern as long as I kept it under 2k initially. I figured I would dump some money into it after I got it so I was looking to keep the initial cost down, but wanted a quality base rifle. After reading the sport review on thetruthaboutguns.com and watching the sport review by Nutnfancy on YouTube I chose the sport.

I wanted a heavy profile barrel. I did not care about the FA or Dust cover, both of which I never used in the military unless someone told me to close the dust cover. Most of the time it just popped open on its own going down the road in a vehicle.

Anyhow I got a sport for $649 back then. I have since dumped some $$$ into it but its finished now. I have put about 1200 rounds through it, not problems at all...not once.

Have a great time with your sport its a great rifle. Here is a pic of mine.

Just had a Sport in my hand at my favorite LGS, very nice.. when he told me I could have it for $650... even though I have a few too many AR's... I was thinking about it..

Just purchased a new sport for $619 today. That was on gun broker. They had 6 at that price this morning. By noon they were all gone.

With my wife, it's nice to think I got one over on her, but in reality it's more like she lets' me get away with it as long as it's within reason.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, work has limited my time at the LGS lately. The barrel is marked 5.56 NATO 1/8 5R.
I assume the 1/8 is the twist rate, and the 5R refers to the rifling. Is this barrel the one with the Melonite treatment? After handling it at the shop today, I can hardly wait to get it home. I'm thinking about a FDE Magpul stock and pistol grip, as well as replacing the black rail covers with FDE ones.

Kadonny, have you picked that Sport up yet? Remember, pics are mandatory! :D

Nice you got the 1/8 twist!

Yes I picked up my rifle, and will get pics up soon. It's sort of disassembled right now waiting for my KAC rail.

I have learned that all the barrels are good but I have a special fondness for the tack driving 1:8 5R Melonite barrel. Congrats to both of you!! :D

I got a T for $1059 two weeks ago.

I got it, 3 Pmags, 3 boxes of ammo (Hornady 50 round boxes) all for $1240 out the door.

Time for you to pick up the sport! 670 is an awesome deal. Here in NorCal closest I can get to that is 709
