M&P Parts Identification

Ok, all of the M&Ps that I have worked on have a plastic plate that goes on top of the striker safety spring. I took one apart last week to change the sights for a customer and the plate was broken in half. I ordered some new ones and the plates that they sent me are metal with no little nub on them to attach the spring to.
They are also a pain in the rear to try to center in the hole to get the sight back on.
Is this possibly the wrong part? Has anyone else run across this problem?

My 9c has the metal disc with no nub. The earlier versions of the M&P's had this. Later on Smith came out with the plastic disc with the nub to attach the spring. Same spring, just a different cap.

Proper Mag Nomenclature

There's more to the M&P than just the gun though. There is also the magazine so:

M&P 40 Disconnect Lever (31)

New 2021 M&P 40 Perfornance Center 5" user here. Again thanks for this great info. Curious - My 40 does not have the disconnect lever - 31.

Since you say your info is also a M&P 40 full size, did that change?

Thank you Rastoff for your hard work. I am so glad I found this. This is just another example of the knowledge and expertise of many of the members here and why this is such a great forum.

"Seems like deja vu all over again...!"

Lazarus or Yogi?

Cheers!

P.S. If you don't have a magazine disconnect, you don't have...

Item, #31 is a magazine disconnect. It is a State compliance feature for certain States. It disconnects the trigger bar from the sear resulting in a dead trigger when the mag is removed.
