M&P Shield 9 Take down lever stuck during reassembly

I looked at that earlier thinking the same thing. Its still behind the take down lever and I can see clearance between the 2.

Edit: The pin is flush on both sides

If the pin isn't preventing rotation, then I'm stumped. The lever is nothing more than a round shaft, with a flat side, and a keyed end on the right side. There is a spring wire on the left side, that puts a bit of tension on it.
You can see that wire, just below the slide rail, and behind the takedown lever.

Thanks for the description. After reading that, I decided to tap on it with a plastic tipped hammer. I was able to get it to move. After it rotated, I was able to see a roll pin that was completely covered by the takedown lever. It was sticking out just enough to catch on it. I will drive it back to flush. Thanks to everyone for helping!
