M&P Shield is Stuck

I have owned a handgun for only a few months. I cleaned my Shield today and did something wrong. The slide will not engage properly now. Here are two pictures of what it looks like at this point. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has to help me. Thanks.

It looks like your guide rod is hung up on something. If you can, take it apart and put it back together.

CasualDude, thanks for weighing in. My son came over and with four hands we were able to take it apart again. I will be more careful this time putting the slide back on.

its not the slide but the recoil rod...did with my glock once when not paying attention.
