I heard it is a threaded barrel version of the m&p9 and comes with 3 mags.

The product code for the SpecialOps is 150398. It has a 4.75" barrel, the last 1/2 inch is threaded for a suppressor(I don't know which brand) and comes with 3 17 round mags. A call to the S&W's customer service @ 1-800-331-0852 should get any other info you need, just ask about #150398.My distributor has 100 or more in stock as I write this. Bob

I just came on here to post about this too. S&W is finally really getting into the tactical market. They need to thread the .40 and .45 before the 9 though in my opinion. I dont think a suppressor is really that necessary on a 4.5" barreled 9. Anyway, I may have to give it a shot!

I think the lettering looks kinda cool. I would like to see the longslide with a threaded barrel, 5 1/2" would be a good lookin' gun. We all know the bling ain't necessary but, how many "Operators" are gonna carry this anyway?

Hey, I got a good chuckle out of the first S&W "Recon" I saw come through a CCW range, too.

Marketing is marketing, however, and you generally don't want to be standing in the flight path of someone who is just bound and determined that something emblazoned with the latest tacti-cool rollmark is THE BEST thing since metallic cartridges were invented. Outta' their way, you know?

I believe it is a special order being sold through a distributor called Sports South in Shreveport, LA.

I just got today a package from Sports South, it contained a thread protector for the number of Spec Ops pistols I ordered. So any who have ordered them contact your dealer I expect they have your thread protectors waiting for you.

i have two of them. They are great. It only takes few seconds to thread a supressor. I am not going to say which ones we are assigned, due to security reasons.

I just saw a picture and, frankly, I think the threaded barrel is ugly. Unless my line of work called for me to use a suppressor, I wouldn't want that weapon.

I had the same reaction. Any chance that he does not know the difference between a compensator and a suppressor?
