Why yes I suppose it would. Both of my 870's suffered the same fate. Their remains are still being disassembled to be disposed of.

It sucks, but has been a very good life lesson in dealing with loss, and putting it all in the rearview and looking forward.

Fire is unforgiving, that is certain. As long as you and loved ones avoided injury, i'd label it as a successful type of day. As said, things can be replaced. life and limb cannot. I deal with fire on a regular basis; it is to be respected and to a degree, feared.....

For what it's worth even an all metal gun would have been toast. Maybe not melted but no longer structurally sound. End result is the same

Even if it were loaded, once the base plate melted, the guts of the magazine, and any rounds, would have been ejected out the bottom.
