M&P15-22 kaboom

Went to the range today so I figured I would post a report. The little Smithy shot great. Had a few stove pipes on feeding not ejecting but I think I can attribute that to some hastily loaded mags and that my friend had the mag resting on the shooting table when it stove piped (FTF) on him twice. I shot a full mag of CCI mini mags rapid fire after the last stove pipe and had no problems.

Other than not loading the mag properly I would be interested if anyone has a theory on what else would cause a FTF stove pipe in this weapon.

And yes I did get two additional mags from S&W when the rifle came back.

Load a dozen rounds as carefully as you like. Then pull down an inch on the magazine thumb assist and slowly let back up. You'll likely notice that the next round does not always fully lift into position. It hangs up in the top area of the mag.

sand paper or emery cloth ..... carefully and lightly

Just went to the range again yesterday. Was really disappointed with the feeding issues I am now having. Most of it was with the federal bulk I got from Walmart though I did have a couple with my CCI mini mags. The round would end up stuck on the mag and bent pointing up. Had a few where the round was not even chambered. All 4 mags I brought had at least one feeding issue. My last 3 mags were shot rapid fire with CCI mini-mags and I had zero failures and they were loaded much less carefully than any of the ones exhibiting problems. Leads me to blame the mags rather than the rifle but I am baffled but these are the same mags were relatively trouble free before. I guess it could be the Fed Bulk Pack. Just got my new Automatch ammo back from Federal so I will have to test with that. I did polish my feed ramp last night just for the heck of it.

I have 100% good result from Mini-Mags.

95% on Federal Lightning (500/box from Walmart)

Not very lucky with Remington Golden Bullet, so I decide the GB will only be used with my 229/22.

All I will be using now will be CCI Mini-Mags and Stingers.
