I have an M19-2 from a close friend (RIP) who used it in PPC competition. I've replaced the bull barrel (Knight?) and Bomar rail and it's starting to look like the first S&W that I bought as a teenager - a 6" 19-3 that my son got away with a few years ago.
Looking for advice on picking a rear sight. From what I've gathered, there was at least two versions of these square-front sights with slightly different fixed screw locations. The screw hole on this is directly over the barrel/cylinder gap. It measures 1.875" from the screw hole center to the shoulder milled out at the rear of the frame.
Suggestions on sources? I haven't found any in town and all found online leave me guessing about that hole measurement. Curiously, a new 629 sight drops right in, but the hole is about 0.04-0.05" short.
