Shot my M617 in the local monthly ASI match. My wife joined me using my Dad’s Ruger MKII with a red dot. We both had a great time. Am enjoying this revolver a great deal. It’ shot where I aimed it, so any points down were all my fault.

Do need to work on my reloads. Have both speedbeez and DS-10 reloaders, which both worked fine. The speedloader carrier however is finicky as when I withdraw the speedloader, sometimes ammo drops. It’s the nature of these speedloaders.

Regardless, am enjoying this particular revolver a great deal. Think next month, may shoot my M63……

I have found the SpeedBeez loaders drop more ammo than the DS-10s, the spring on the SpeedBeez isn't as strong.

I have a carrier that I got years ago from Revolver Supply Co or 4WheelGuns.com. It holds 5 loaders and it's easy to work. I have not dropped any rounds onto the rack when loading. I also use a 6th holder for those rare occurrences that I need to do a reload during a string in Steel Challenge Shooting.

I also have 2 of the 100 rounds loading blocks from SpeedBeez and 2 140 round blocks in Pelican boxes from 4WheelGuns.com.

I may not have made myself clear, the speedloader carrier is on my belt, had no issues with the blocks you describe & show. When I pull the speedloader out of the carrier on my belt, both the DS10 and speedbeez had tendency to drop round, unless I was careful

I understand. This is my setup. I have a rack to put my speed loaders on and I've never dumped a round while grabbing the loaders from the belt.

RevolverSupplyCo. only has single or double pouches now. I haven't tried them.

Hopefully DS-10 will chime in here and show what he's using.

617 speed loaders

No dog in this fight, but you might want to check with Dave Parker (Mass.)at Revo-Gear ([email protected]) 978-870-6425. I haven't seen Dave in a year or two but Dave's a top revolver shooter who makes products that work. My last purchase from him was a cylinder release for competition.

AZ, I have made inserts that convert a K-Frame .38 belt holder to hold my loaders, they are injection molded and have holes that are tapered to eliminate any binding. But since I found I needed a way to carry the empty loaders and cylinder dumps anyway, I just go with a dual pouch shot shell bag. I put loaded speed loaders in the inside pouch and put the empties in the outside pouch. I don't look cool like the guys with loaders wrapped around their belt but that has worked the best for me. The pouch I use is a little smaller than the picture below but you get the idea.

Added note: The pouch also has the capacity to hold more than enough loaders for 2 guns if I choose to shoot optic and iron at the same time up to the line.
