M625-6 Hammer Nose Anyone?

Help! For the second time in this guns life the hammer nose has passed away. Broken. The truly sad thing is that S&W deems this 20 year old revolver "obsolete" and no longer provides support for it! What!! And after speaking with the nice young illegal....err uh, undocumented alien with customer service, they don't give a darn either!

I've already called all the usual parts dealers, who are out, and wishing that they could get these parts also. What do I do?

First thing you need to know is the 625-6 engineering change occurred in 1997 which is more like 16 yrs. ago. Also, 625-6 guns have no firing pin on the hammer, but rather in the frame.

Once you correctly identify your gun, you can try to buy a complete used hammer to fit in your gun.

Oh yeah, and if you plan on calling S&W again, I suggest an attitude adjustment should come first.

That is strange because my 625-6 also has the fireing pin in the hammer. Also I had a similar experience with customer service and I was very nice I will post on that soon as I cool down it was 2 mounths and I am still mad with their attitude!!

Ha! OK, here we go. M625-6 Mountain Gun, 45 Colt, 1993 production (As verified by Smith & Wesson). Since I have replaced the hammer nose once before, I still know exactly where it is, as compared to you, Sir. Complete hammer assemblies are also no longer available, and out of the supply line.

And it would be there attitude which I was taken aback by, not to mention yours. So there Sweet Cakes, are you of any help, or not?

Update for anyone who might be also looking. Midway is now showing a complete hammer assembly available. With a hammer nose of all things! As of earlier today, this item was listed as unavailable. Get 'em while you can.
