Finally landed one, and I’m a tad bit excited! A good friend just retired from Corrections, and agreed to sell me her M66-1 2-1/2” Snubbie. She never enjoyed having to be licensed and sometimes carry over her 30+ year career, first as an assistance warden then a Federal parole officer. It has been on my wish list for at least 10 years. It has been fired very little and not at all in about 15 years, but that will change next week. Did a quick clean, hit it with the Flitz polish, and replaced the rubber with some wood. Just wanted to post a quick before and an after group pic. It fills my gap nicely for winter carry. Top M66-ND 4”, 2nd – M66 2.5”, 3rd M60-9, 4th M642-1. Apologies for the poor cell-phone pics. PEN.

Thanks Les & Ken. I can already see why you guys held on to yours all these years. I love the feel and the weight in the hand. Can't wait to get to the range. PEN

I know your excitement, been looking for years. I was working a local gun show and a friend walked by and said did you see the 66 RB over by the wall. Immediate travel to the table not only was it a 2 1/2 in 66 but it was a -1 and mint to boot. It has become my carry weapon ever since.

Boy, did you luck out. I've got the M19 RB Snub, but still looking for a M66 snub. . .and looking, and looking, and looking.

Congrats on your new acquisition !
The 66-1 snub is arguably the high water mark for the K-Magnum snubs !

Picked up this 66-1 snub several years ago and it is my favorite for CC carry when Magnum Force may be needed (Early model 66 at left),

On a side note I also have an early 686 snub ( shown below 19-7 K-comp) but it is noticeably larger in the cylinder and barrel compared to the K-Magnum.

Recently debated buying a pre IL 3" Model 60-? in .357 Mag for $550 but decided it really wasnt that much smaller or lighter than my 66-1 snub , the ultimate tie breaker was that it only had a 5 shot cylinder vs the K frame 6.

Perhaps the 7 shot 686 + snub might balance the trade off of size and weight by adding 1 more round of .357 Magnum.

Thanks guys for all the replies. Oger, congrats on your find.....neat story. Engine49guy - I really like your 686+ snub with the combat grips. I could be talked into one of those. I'm shopping for a holster now......perhaps a Lobo enhanced pancake. And off to the range next week! Take Care. PEN
