Magazines?

I got 2 brand new M&P 17 rounders for $250 per magazine and they were nice enough to toss in a FS M&P 9mm pistol for free!

Mine have been on order from S&W since April, 2013. As with the others, I received a confirmation email and postcard. Thankfully, they haven't charged my credit card.

I was able to find two at CTD, although I dislike the price-gouging they support.

BTW, Springfield sent me 5 mags within about 2 weeks after placing an order at their store. The new XDs 9 now looks even more attractive given S&W's non-existent magazine supply. Hopefully I can get a decent trade-in price for my Shield. I would then have to figure out some way to cancel my Shield mag order.

An update - I just bought a new XDs-9 at a fair price. I was pleasantly surprised to obtain next-business-day availability of magazines from the Springfield Armory factory store, and I was able to buy a total of 6 mags (both regular and extra capacity).

Now I've got to decide if I want to keep my Shield and continue my hunt for extra mags, probably at high prices. I have no idea when S&W will ship the mags I ordered last spring.

The Shield is a great gun, too, and I'm really fortunate to have both. So far, I prefer the feel and smoothness of the factory XDs trigger. Also, the XDs works better for me re the fit of the gun to my hand, etc. The XDs also matches my full-size XDm re operating controls, which is a plus for me.

I hope my comments are helpful - YMMV, of course.

I wonder if S&W has any plans to improve their magazine supply problem? Maybe now that Springfield is providing such great service re magazine purchases the other companies will follow their example.

Well at least S&W gave you some hope of receiving your mags. The Magpul 30 rd. mags I ordered in December still have not arrived and no word of encouragement at all from S&W. Good luck.

Magazine supply problem is just like the Magpul magazine supply problem was.

Give it time, let the mag hoarders calm down. And everything will be back to normal.

As for me, im the type of person who doesnt own a firearm unless I have 6 or more mags for it. So in my case, there is never a mag problem i have to worry about. If i ever feel i need more mags, i'll buy some later on when it calms down. Its not like its rocket science to know this.
