MAGPUL PTS MBUS BLACK | eBay

I've had no problems with my MBUS (PTS) sights other than like a previous poster, the pivot pins were walking a bit, but as stated, some blue loctite on the pins and all is good. I paid $26 shipped, but have not seen that deal in a while.

The PTS sights are durable, fully functioning, and accurate.

Ok, I found a set on that aliexpress site for a little over $13 shipped, so I just had to buy a set.

We will see I guess....

Hey Juvicator by chance did you ever get around to making up a set of these sights? If so how did they come out?

I started, then started the A2 front sight, then the lever, and other things. Never got around to it.

oh ok yeah i was wondering what happened i didnt see an update.

The ones I got were from ali express. They come in a bag no pins on instructions nada. Quality is so-so, they work for shooting. Just pins creep out but easy fix. I didn't like all the slop they have. When they are folded they don't lay as flat as they should, and the windage knob is made poorly, and moves. Little things. But for 12 bucks they are fine.

I just received my set from DealExtreme. Part number 65703. I paid $15.91 and it took about 3 weeks.

They came in the nice box pictured earlier in the tread. Like many others the front post needed to be raised. They mounted easily. I don't expect to use them very often but it is nice to know they are there. They cowitnessed in the bottom 1/4 on a Bushnell TRS-25 that I have on an 1" rail riser.

I've never seen the real Magpul version in person so I can't comment on the quality. They do appear to be very cheaply made.

The old saying "you get what you pay" for rings true.

Dont get me wrong, after you tweak the pins a bit and loc tite them, they arent that bad (for the price) i actually spent a good amount of time with some 120 grit sand paper, and gave them a good rubbing. they dont look so bad after you get all the flash, and burrs off of them.

Just ordered a set of the aloe press sights. Actually, two of them for sixteen bucks. Since they are mainly to address the odd feeling of no irons at all, and for looks more than anything, they will probably suffice. The sights on most .22s in my youth were not a whole lot better.

We'll see what happens. I might get lucky.

Here are some pics of a set of Magpul PSD MBUS sights I ordered off eBay from a website called Waridiot.com

I paid $27.50 for these sights which included shipping from Hong Kong. I showed these sights to a fellow 15-22 MOE owner and he said they are virtually identical to his.

The sights are tight, articulate smoothly, don't wiggle when extended and there are no visible mold seams.

It took about 14 days to get.

Notice how much postage is on the envelope - $20 + $5 + $1 + 10cents = $26.10

I only paid $27.50 for the sights (shipping was included)

these are the knock-offs i posted about in 'BEWARE' post....not even Airsoft quality....they are garbage

Garbage? Do you have a set? Like I said in my other post. These are 100% fully functional, rugged, and reliable for a sight I'll probably never use. For my application (on a range gun that has a scope I'll probably never take off), I'm ok with these. Personally, I would not spend more than I did on my sights on a set of Magpul MBUS GenI or II sights. I've spent my fare share of time carrying military weapons under some pretty harsh conditions and I don't feel plastic sights have any place on a military weapon or a service weapon, especially ones that have articulating parts.

When I bought these, I was under no misconception of what they were, where they were from, or who made them. Made in China by Magpul PTS or by some sweat shop in China is still made in China...so I don't have any problem with it since MAGPUL already has a partnership with the Chinese.

This is a 15-22 forum. In all of the posts that I read here, I don't recall anyone mention that they were using their 15-22 for combat purposes. Some might be using it as a cheap alternative for training. If there is a discussion about these in the M&P 15 forum debating their application on an M&P 15 that might actually be used for something life critical (i.e. military, law enforcement, or personal defense), then the application of these sights or MBUS sights for that matter would be another story.

If anyone is using an MBUS as their primary sight that is not their purpose and was not what they were designed for. They are backup sights intended to spend most of their life in the down position.

My counterfeit plastic 'garbage' sights work just fine on my polymer 15-22. I have no fantasy about what my 15-22 (or it's plastic sights for that matter) is or what it is for. A lot of users here absolutely love their 15-22 and have a great time accessorizing it, but seem to forget or don't know what it is appropriate for this class of rifle or what's prudent to spend on it.

If people here want to spend the extra $$$ on full up service quality parts then more power to them. While I'm not a fan of Airsoft, these kids (and adults with some sort of military fantasy) put their Airsoft rifles through much more than most of our 15-22s will ever see, so I think most Airsoft parts are fine for our rifles.

Now, having said all of this, I know your that your point is that these are knockoffs of PTS sights and I understand your argument, but the set I have are not 'garbage' and are comparable to the MBUS sights on my friend's 15-22 MOE. I must have received a well made set of knockoff sights.

+1 CPT.... there is an airsoft field by my place and i was just curious bout what the "hype" was about so i checked out a game.. One thing i will say is those ppl throw their guns, drop them to go to their sidearm, etc. That being said im not to worried bout airsoft parts on my 15-22. Now i will admit that knockoff PTS sights is just ridiculous, but as many ppl have said on here " you keep fueling the fire and it will keeping getting worse".

I have no idea what in the heck folks are using their 15-22s for. Sounds like it's full on "combat" based on this back-up sight quality discussion. Mine's a range plinker, and it's made of plastic (polymer). Basically, it's a Barbi Doll for guys. I know some use theirs in competition.

I dressed mine up with a tactical bipod, tactil grip, and tactical rail covers. I have yet to purchase my wardrobe of tactical pants, tactical shirts, tactical glasses, tactical shorts (for summer), tactical light, tactical laser, and all other tactical gear. This, of course must be necessary to shoot tactical paper and tactical plates at the range or, if by chance, I am attacked by a horde of tactically equipped and/or tactically attired squirrels, or other very small varmints. Oh, ignore my non-tactical 3-12x44 scope. 2-3 cents a round is fun, and I can see my hits quite well at 50-100 yds and leave my spotting scope at home ...er, I mean the tactical command center :D

No night vision?

my point is that people who knowingly order illegal knock-offs from foreign countries should be held just as accountable for the infringement as the jerks advertising these items as the real-deal

I know several other guys on here have stated the real Magpul PTS sights work--not doubting that fact--but these are not authentic Magpul--PTS or otherwise--and calling them anything but a cheap knock-off aids in further confusion between these and the real thing allowing the scam artists online to con fellow forum members

They work for you--super--however remember that you are undermining an AMERICAN company to buy Chinese garbage to save a buck--how patriotic of you

$10 says a person could go thru your house and find a lot of stuff that is made overseas; stuff that you could have been purchased from American companies, stuff that might even have been made by American company subsidiaries.

You're using a computer. Open it up, look at many of the components. Assembled in China, etc.

Here's a website that lists American companies with operations in China.

http://www.jiesworld.com/international_corporations_in_china.htm

Be very, very careful when you start questioning the partiotism of others.
