Back on the original topic of "mags for guns I don't own"-
I'm doing that now; I own a CZ99 that has a scarcity of available mags, but is a fine and robust cheap hi-cap pistol. It can take Beretta-shaped magazines, but you have to make a cutout in the front of the mag to lock it in (just needs a new notch).
I'm finding that the Taurus 92 mags are very cheap, and have the correct dimensions, so I bought a couple recently.
I don't plan on buying a Taurus, I plan on dong some Dremel work instead.
As an aside, someone on Gunbroker listed 10 CZ99 mags for sale, open bid was at $60, Buy Now was $120.
I bid up to $75 and was considering buying them outright... but I hesitated for 2 minutes to decide whether I really wanted to spend that much, for that many mags, for a gun that wasn't "my favorite".
I decided that yes, I would... but in those 2 minutes someone else beat me to the punch.
added...
and darn it, I put the hole too high on these Taurus mags... it sets too low, and it catches on the upper lip of the notch. I don't suppose JB Weld or anything would work to add a millimeter, would it?
