Interesting. Several years ago I tested several oils for corrosion resistance by submerging uncoated nails in half filled sealed small bottles with nails coated with the oils. Break Free was the clear winner. After two years in the water I tired of waiting and removed the nails coated with Break Free. Some nails rusted in less than 24 hours, WD40, Three in one, to name a couple I would never use on a gun.
Yes. that was one of the best tests and write up, It was done years ago, I printed a copy and have it somewhere.
