I like it. I also have a sneaking suspicion that the dog has been manipulated within the frame to appear larger than he really is...but it's still a cool image.

ears up, alert, ready for anything that comes at him....so is the dog! Great pic. (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.)

Shepard Rottweiler mix? Shepard Akita mix? I think either would make for a VERY formidable looking dog - very similar to the one in the picture.

I was thinking Shepard/Rottie mix too. I wouldn't want to mess with his human. My black lab/Norwegian Elkhound looks like a nice friendly lab but.......get in her territory or between her and me, I'm not responsible for what might happen. She did nip the local LEO when he came into her/my space at work without me telling her "It's OK"

I would bet small cop, big dog. And I bet a fast dog, a lot faster than I'm interested in running.

If more people actually knew the abilities of a dog like that they would freak. I have seen them in action and it was scary,it is easy to understand why humans have feared wolves all these years.

I'm thinking Belgium malanois.

Not a Malinois. Too thick in the face. Belgian Shepherds are not very big; an 80 pound male would be freakish. I suspect that the photo has been manipulated, but I have met a GSD/Rott cross that would be about that size. Great dog.

Some dogs are just big. Malcolm is a big boy for a Rot :D

Yes, he is. And actually, after looking at some videos of dogs like the one in the OP, I'll sort of semi-retract what I said about the image being manipulated. I still won't totally rule it out, but I looked at some big dogs in the videos.

Your Malcom is a beautiful dog, by the way. I've lived with Rottweilers for over twenty-five years now, but never had one that large.
