I've read every thread I can find on low left. I've had rifles and shotguns since age 9 but haven't shot pistols much. I've been very frustrated with the low lefts since I got my M&P 9 FS. At first I couldn't hit a 11x14 sheet of paper from 7 yards unless I aimed at the top right corner. I can't remember who to credit for these tips but they work for me.
1. Grip-I'm right handed and the tip was not to use your pinky finger on the grip. I overlap it now like my golf grip. Tightening the pinky on the grip causes barrel to dip down.
2.-Trigger finger- I was using the first joint and not the pad of the forefinger and was noticeably jerking the barrel around just enough to screw things up.
Anyway I'm very happy to finally get some good results as I really enjoy shooting and love to practice just wish 9mm ammo was more readily available and normal price. Here's my last 10 shot group. Again thanks to all on the forum!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365116561.683573.jpg

I have had good groups with the M&P's, but if I am going to be off, it is usually low left. I have never seen the tips you listed, but I sure will be trying them out to see what effect it might have on my accuracy. Thanks, brother!

When you master the technique you're using, try to use your pinky too. When you are shooting rapid fire, especially in the stress of an action shooting match, such as IDPA, you will have better control for follow-up shots using your pinky, at least most people do.

Thanks! I'll continue to experiment. You are quite helpful!

Keep up the good work! Do lot's of dry firing to drill the grip and trigger pull into your unconscious muscle memory zone. If you have 22lr ammo get yourself a 22lr pistol for cheap practice.

I have the M&P 22. Got it first which lead me to the 9. I've put about 900 rounds or so thru the 22 and it shoots really well with the right ammo. After shooting the 9 a few times I pick up the 22 and its very accurate. Just have to keep practicing with the 9 so I feel as confident with it. Thanks

Bobermo/This evening I put my right pinky back on the grip and moved my left hand more toward the back of the grip (by this I mean the base of my left thumb) more like its pushing the back of the grip. Hard to explain. Anyway it got my left thumb out of the way of my trigger finger. This was 7 yards again. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365308853.016731.jpg
