Grade A Maple syrup is about $10 a pint in NorCal. That's the cheap stuff, can't even get the Grade B Maple syrup.

I make my own...
Our maple syrup is from Mapleine, a flavoring added to sugar and water and comes across as good as any Aunt Jemima or Log Cabin syrup. Been on my pancakes going back 60 years ago as that's all Mom could afford way back when. You can buy a 2 oz. bottle of flavoring for a few dollars and it will get you about a year's worth of syrup. If you like your syrup thick you can add corn syrup with the water and sugar.

To be a diabetic and totally in love with good maple syrup is a punishment that I accept. However, I don't like it one little bit!

Grade "B"dark is the good stuff!
Harder to come by, that fancy A grade stuff is for sissy's....
"B" Grade Vermont Maple Syrup is no more!
According to Forbes, the names have been changed, to protect the innocent, I guess. Its all "A" Grade now.
