Mardi Gras is a coming fast

I and the missus check in to he hotel in the quarter Thursday afternoon! We (I) will drink to excess and roam the quarter. Friday I will attend my Krewe Luncheon and thereafter go to the Old Absinthe House to partake of the scenery. Around 4 I will proceed to the dressing room and get into costume for my parade. It is super secret so I can't tell y'all the name of the organization I belong to, but it parades after Hermes and before Morpheous Thereafter, I shall decamp from my float, watch the remaining parade and party till the body says quit. This year Endymion will roll on Canal St. right past the hotel so we are going to stay Saturday as well. Will spend the day Mardi Gras'ing watch the parade Saturday night and then drive home Sunday.
My one weekend to cut loose!
My wife is the one who actually will check in so she can use her rewards card. This year when I made the reservations, I asked for some special things for the room, to wit: Three Snickers Bars and a live chicken just to see what would happen. And now I wait

I have only been there once and that was a long, long time ago. I went with a van load of bandmates and the ones who had previously made the pilgrimage advised me to wear galoshes or disposable shoes.

We will bring the lawn chairs and drinks out under the oak trees in the front yard and watch as the Krewe of Choupic parades down La 304. That will take about 30 minutes and produce a wheelbarrow worth of full of beads and throws. Rest of day, BBQ & Gumbo
