The new GCA in Maryland passed both houses and is on the way to the Governors desk for signature. One of the bizarre provisions in this legislation bars any guns taken out of state to be brought back in. A young 15 yr-old competitive rifle shooter testified before the committee stating that this provision will limit the competitions her high school rifle team will be able to compete in and hurt, if not eliminate, her college scholarship opportunities. This young girl, Sarah Merkle, shoots at 200 to 600 yrds and aspires to be a 1000 yrd rifle marksman. In this law and any others under consideration, there have to be exceptions to the mindless stupidity now being foisted upon law abiding citizens, for competitive shooters and hunters, at the very least. I would assume the waterfowl and deer in Maryland are in for a tough time if hunters in that state can't go out of state to pursue their god given, constitutionally protected rights.
