Matchbox cars and their collector value

I have @ 100 or more, most in 98 to 100% cond. However, very few in their original box/packaging. I have NO idea of the value. I got them all the time for Christmas and birthdays while growing up in the 60's. Any ideas where to start to look for value? I'd like to sell them or trade them for a firearm.

I'd look on eBay to see values . . . find out what each given car is actually selling for in condition similar to yours.

This is a good idea.

There are prices guides out there, but these days nothing is selling for those prices. And they are just an estimate of worth. Ebay will tell you two things, is there a demand? And what people are willing to pay. Search the completed auctions.
