I've got a matt black 4 inch 19-7. It is rather unusual. The finish is very similar to that of the PC K-comp.....but slightly darker and.....slicker. Like a teflon coating...almost. It has a round butt.
It has the "newer" rounded rear sight leaf but the old style extractor star. It also has the old style thumb latch. Everything is finished in the same matt black, including the screws and everything matches up. All parts appear to be factory original. The front sight blade appears to be integral to the barrel. I see no indication of a pin. There is no red insert, and it is of the later 19-7 "steep" variety.
One of the kind members here told me that it shipped in February 1994, without grips, as a special order. Serial is BRH 04XX.
I was told by someone who may know that this gun was part of a special late run for either the Diplomatic Security Service or a USMC order for their Embassy guards.
Anyone have one like it? Anyone have any other info? Thanks! Regards 18DAI
