He will have you trained in no time at all!
Congrats!

You said a mouthful my friend.
I'm training him with a clicker and treat. He will "come" when I call him because he gets a treat.
So.........on our long walks in the woods, he stays back and waits for me to say "come" so he can get an extra treat. He has me trained well!
He also knows how to "shake". So when you scold him, he raises his paw to shake. Brings tears to my eyes.
Sorry dog! LOL
I'm proud to say that I've broken him from herding. He was a terror on walks. He would dive past you at top speed, but grab your pant leg to turn you. Silent and sneaky fast. Those teeth hurt if he hits skin. Had to go to combat boots and short pants when we train.
I finally had to just grab him when he dove for my leg and force his nose into the ground and hold him down until he cried uncle. I really don't like doing that, but he was terrorizing my wife when she walked him. He finally quit.
In that same regard, going down our stairs, he would ambush your leg and both of you would tumble down the stairs. He missed once, fell, top to bottom, summersalting all the way, end over end. I thought he had broken his neck.
All this is funny because I wanted a German Shepherd, or a Malinois (I have worked with police K9's) but at my age I thought they would present too much of a challenge to properly train.
This little boy is actually more difficult to handle. He's that smart and determined to have his way. We often go for a 2 mile sprint in 95 degree weather. Doesn't even phase him. Then he'll rough house for 2 hours when we get home.
I do love it so!
