anyone else had a problem with Wolf Military classic ammo? In my xdm 9mm I cant load more than 7rds into any of my mags unless I throw some brass in there with em. The follower just gets stuck. it wont do this with any other ammo. (and ive tried dozens) FWIW they shoot fine if i only load up to 7. Also seem to be scarring up the followers a bit.

I think you have your answer already. The ammo sucks.

I would not use Wolfs in my guns. There is too much out there against them that can be learned with a trip to google

I'm not going to get into the whole Wolf ammo debate, instead I'll just say that some weapons have no problem with Wolf, others refuse to digest it.
You just have one of those that doesn't like it, back to Winchester White Box for you.

Does the magazine jam up using other factory ammo?

What do you mean by "throw some brass in there with them"?

Did you by chance dis- assemble the mags, are the springs in correctly?

Is this HP ammo or FMJ?

I haven't shot any Wolf in my XDM, but did try some of the Tula ammo. It had the same problem, got to checking the overall length and most were longer than good quality brass cased ammo. They were hanging up on the inside of the mag by being too long. They worked in some of my other nines, apparently the XDM has a magazine of minimum internal dimensions. Not sure if this is your problem but it is easily checked.

"it wont do this with any other ammo. (and ive tried dozens)"

What do you mean by "throw some brass in there with them"? Load brass with them, I think the cases in this WPA are a smaller circumference than any brass ive loaded in the mags or could be like another poster said, too long and catching on the mags. Pushing the brass on top would pretty much force them down.

Did you by chance dis- assemble the mags, are the springs in correctly? It only does this with the wolf ammo.

Is this HP ammo or FMJ Its FMJ

Thank you, I was thinking that it may be of a smaller diameter than my brass ammo, and it seems that it IS and that it IS longer. So its hanging up on the mags and after just a few rounds loaded in it is hanging up so bad that I cant load on top of it. Ive seen this with Steel ammo in AR mags but not in a pistol mag.

if you or a friend reloads 9mm, this is easy to fix

I don't have an XDM, however I do shoot my XD9 quite a bit. It really doesn't seem to care what kind of ammo I shoot in it. As others have said, maybe your gun just doesn't like it.
Hope you get it figured out.

I have a 92FS, a Kahr CW9, and I recently sold a Jericho. Winchester White Box is more accurate in all of these than Wolf is. I no longer buy Wolf 9mm. I have better luck with Wolf 7.62X39 in my Arsenal SLR-95 and my Mini-30.

I know exactly what you are talking about, mine won't either, same symptoms, to the T. Bye-bye XDm, Yep, thats how I roll, no prima donnas in MY stable! I could prime cat turds and stuff them in my G19 and they'd go...
OMC

Nothing better than having nice guns with great barrels and stuffing junk steel cased ammo in them. Be sure to use the lacquer coated stuff so when it gets hot, the barrel get nice and sticky.

thought i put on here that these were leftovers from a bulk buy at a gun show. bought them to shoot up in an old hi-point i used as a trail gun.

I guess I did not read that or see that?(still don't but I am blind)

It was aimed more at OMC"s comment.;) I am a big fan of XD's.

oh no, i DIDNT put it on here and left it out. I had put it on another forum.

As for the other post stating that these guns are prima donnas. I have put about 750 rounds of varying ammo through this gun and ONLY experienced problems with wolf ammo. Seems to me that is more of an ammo related problem than a prima donna problem. Now if I had FTF FTE Mag Failures from more than just the wolf, id be worried

XDM is one type of gun I've had to drive stuck Wolf cases out of the barrel with a range rod.
Suggest you chalk it up that its just "wrong ammo for this gun."
Military type pistols seem to fare much better with Wolf ammo.

He got rid of the gun rather than so so ammo, doesn't make sense to me:confused:

I believe it's due to the Polyformance polymer coating on the cases. When shooting the Polyformance ammo in my Glocks, I can get about 13 rounds into my 15 round mags. I have to use my loading tool to get the last few rounds into the mag. I had no problems loading or shooting the brass plated steel cased S&B Range Safe ammo in my Glocks. I also had no problems with the older lacquer coated Wolf ammo.

Thank you all, on another ummmm more appropriate forum for the gun in question.......... hint hint :D . i havent really gotten many replies.
