This is a package I shipped from the Post Office. First time I've seen this type of error. I'm not trying to prove anything or bash the PO, it's just my first experience seeing this after many years of shipping items.

First, the drop off at the PO.

USPS in possession of item
GARFIELD, WA 99130

A few hours later.

Departed Post Office
GARFIELD, WA 99130

Looks normal, except I live in Las Vegas and that's where it was shipped from. I then noticed the zip code in Garfield, Washington is 99130. I know the zip code of the Vegas PO because I go there often and it's 89130. So, whether computer or human error, the first digit of the zip was incorrect, thus showing a destination the package was never at.

This morning, when it arrived at the Regional Facility for departure to its destination, it now correctly shows Las Vegas.

Those hand scanners can get messed up. Several times when I have mailed a package it gets scanned as delivered at PO where I mailed it. Try explaining that to an irrate eBay buyer.

I sent a registered letter Sept. 1 to Sparks, Nv., next to Reno, Nv. Letter arrived on 2nd to Reno facility, out that night to next facility. On the 5th, the last notice, it was in route to the next facility. It hit the Reno P.O. and just needed to be delivered about a mile down the road and it hasn't made it yet.

I ordered a pair of boots from KY Guns. It said it was shipped. Then it went incognito for about 3 weeks. It showed up in Detroit. I am in Wisconsin. Then after 2 more weeks, it was finally delivered.

Yes, that’s how your mail in ballots can work as well.
